"Arab Journalists Come Out in Support of Israeli Flotilla Actions"

SNIPPET: "Journalists in the Arab world have come out in support of Israel in the aftermath of last month's flotilla incident, which left 9 dead after Hamas-tied "humanitarian activists" attacked Israeli commandos with clubs, knives, and other weapons.
The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) released excerpts from an interview with Magdi Khalil, an Egyptian-American writer, aired on June 15 on Al-Jazeera TV. Khalil explains:
"The Turkish ship, however, was organized by a known terrorist organization, which has appeared on the terror list since 1997. The IHH [The Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief] is a terrorist organization. It was foolish of the Israeli defense minister to believe the Turkish prime minister, who said that these were peaceful people. The Turkish prime minister is an Islamist and should not be trusted to begin with."
Khalil's assertions have been confirmed by intelligence experts— IHH has ties to both Hamas and Al-Qaeda. The organization planted 40 IHH operatives on the Mavi Marmara ship to create a violent confrontation with Israel. Those who died have been celebrated as martyrs by IHH and its supporters."

The Iranian Red Crescent is planning to send two ships to Gaza this week it was announced on Monday.
AFP quotes Red Crescent director for international affairs Abdolrauf Adibzadeh as saying: “One ship will carry donations made by the people and the other will carry relief workers. The ships will be sent to Gaza by end of this week.”

Iran Revolutionary Guards ready to escort Gaza ships 06 Jun 2010 12:40:35 GMT Source: Reuters TEHRAN, June 6 (Reuters) - Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards are ready to provide a military escort to cargo ships trying to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza, a representative of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Sunday.
“Iran’s navy forces are ready to escort the peace flotilla to Gaza with all their powers and capabilities,” Ali Shirazi, Khamenei’s representative inside the Revolutionary Guards, was quoted as saying by the semi-official Mehr news agency.
Any intervention by the Iranian military would be considered highly provocative by Israel which accuses Iran of supplying weapons to Hamas, the Islamist movement which rules Gaza.
The Guards, with their own navy, air force and command structure separate from the regular armed forces, are seen as fiercely loyal to the values of the Islamic Republic.
“If the Supreme Leader issues an order for this then the Revolutionary Guard naval forces will do their best to secure the ships,” Shirazi said. “It is Iran’s duty to defend the innocent people of Gaza.”

You sometimes hear of help or assistance under the table, but never public support.
You have to wonder if there are repercussions to a journalist writing even slightly favorably toward Israel, and why his publication decided to print it.

Germany’s government called Friday for an immediate end to the blockade of the Gaza Strip after an unusual unanimous vote criticizing Israeli policy in Germany’s Bundestag parliament.
“We have repeatedly made it clear that Israel has to enable access to the Gaza Strip on humanitarian grounds and for the sake of reconstruction,” said Ulrich Wilhelm, the German government’s spokesman.

SNIPPET: “The Palestinian-Italian news website (InfoPal) has reported on a meeting between the acting Turkish Ambassador to Italy and representatives of the Italian Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas support organization in Italy. According to the report, on June 30th a meeting was held at the Embassy of the Turkish Republic between the acting ambassador, Lutfu Semih Turgut, Mohammad Hannoun (the president of API ( Association of Palestinians in Italy), Iz a-din el-Zir the (president of Union Islamic Communities in Italy),representatives of the House of Islamic culture and other Italian Muslim associations, journalists as well as Angela Lano and Manolo Luppichini, participants in the Freedom Flotilla that was intercepted by the Israeli navy on the night of 31 May 2010.[i]
Mohammad Hannoun, the president of API thanked the Turkish government for its support to the Flotilla and travelers deported from Israel, and announced the construction of the Freedom Flotilla 2, which will consist of about 20 ships and 5,000 passengers. “I’m ready with six ships – we will start in September“. [ii]
It should be noted that the Association of Palestinians in Italy is the same organization as “Associazione Benefica Di Solidarieta’ Con Il Popolo Palestinese” (ABSPP), the Italian “Union of Good” affiliated organization that maintains close and long standing relationship with Hamas leadership in Damascus the Gaza. Through its website, the ABSPP calls for donations to the Freedom Flotilla, at Banca Popolare Etica, account payable association charity “Solidrietà with the Palestinian people” bank account: 131,000 headed ABSPP ONLUS, IBAN: IT92N0501801400000000131000.[iii]
The Union of Good
The Union of Good is a coalition of Islamic charities that provides financial support to both the Hamas “social” infrastructure, as well as its terrorist activities designated by the USA. It is headed by global Muslim Brotherhood leader Youssef Qaradawi, and most of the trustees and member organizations are associated with the global Muslim Brotherhood. The Union of Good and the Italian ABSPP were banned by Israel in 2002 and Sheikh Qaradawi appears on the US prosecution list of unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation trail.[iv]
The Union of Good, as a pro-Hamas radical Islamic umbrella worldwide coalition is committed and involved in the Hamas campaign to break the Israeli siege on Gaza. The Turkish IHH which, is part of the Union of Good, was set as the leading, prominent front organization among the coalition organizations participating in the 31 May flotilla to the Gaza Strip. The Turkish IHH (Insani Yardim Vakfi, IHH, “humanitarian relief fund”) is known to be a radical Islamic organization, which was established in 1992 and formally registered in Istanbul in 1995. The IHH (outlawed by Israel in 2008) is part of the Union of Good, who was assigned to lead the Jihadi violent flotilla to Gaza.
