Washington Post announced this this morning, but withheld the name. I am informed that the name in this report is correct.

is this official? Last I heard the name hadn’t been released yet. If it’s not official, the blogger should have kept the name to himself until it was announced.

If I were Giunta, I’d ask if George Bush could make the presentation; with Zero doing the job it’s going to be a big “See? I love the military” photo op focused on The One.

I guess that you are right, we can’t have his name and exploits out there for the American people to admire just in time for Independence Day. It might detract from Obama’s Amnesty Agenda. It is about priorities, isn’t it.

The 173rd kicked some serious VC butt in Vietnam-it’s good to hear the new kids are keeping up the tradition.

Semper Fi marine, from an old salt. SSG Guinta is a Paratrooper, assigned to B Company, 2d Battalion, 503d Infantry, 173d Airborne Brigade. But, I'm sure that all our Marine brethren will join in giving him a big Semper Fi.

Thanks for the photo. Everyone can read more about SSG Guinta at this link

Google Korengal Valley, Battle Company, and you will find several Vanity Fair links to slide shows that show a number of pictures of Battle Company in action, including their Company Commander, Captain Dan Kearney. We can all be thankful that men such as this exist amongst the flaming cesspool of our political leadership.

From an old SEABEE to the Marine....The Marines, too, CAN DO.
But what does it mean by “first living” MOH recipient? There have been many who received the medal while still alive.

We can all be thankful that men such as this exist amongst the flaming cesspool of our political leadership.Amen to that! A great many politicians aren't qualified to polish these warriors boots.
Most welcome on the pic and thanks for the link and the heads up on the other.
