In fact -- as Frederick Hayek pointed out long ago -- all socialist movements are the creation of intellectual elites, liberally pollinated by millionaires. Karl Marx was the kept intellectual of factory owner Frederick Engels; Bill Ayers, a leader of the terrorist cult called the Weatherman, was a scion of the American upper class; Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor of The Nation, is a multi-millionairess; Michael Moore, leftwing propagandist, is a multi-millionaire who has profited handsomely from the "struggle." Many years ago a student “organizer” who was a communists complained to me that it was easy to get students to ‘sign on’, but almost impossible to get actual ‘workers’. I laughed then... and today, it’s still a hoot. Real workers get the scam - want no part of it. The more things change the more they stay the same...

The middle class are the people who create wealth, and tend to be republican.

The under class tend to want to live at others’ (middle class) expense and tend to be “democrat”.

The “elite” class skim the cream from the economy (production of the middle class) to fund their lavish lifestyles, then pay off the under class with the leftovers to keep them in power. This class tends to be communists.
