Lots of businesses in downtown Oakland already with boarded-up windows.

Is there the possibility that they all want to start the holiday weekend early?

Clarification:

"they" being the jury, we know the Oakland Animals do, so that's rhetorical.

The talking heads on local radio have predicted that, IF the jury decides today, no announcement will be made before Tuesday, just to ensure riots don't ruin everyone's holiday weekend.

It’s pretty clear from local TV and radio interviews that “we want justice!” is ghetto-speak for “we want a murder conviction — or we riot!”.

And that will stop them from rioting? Bear with me on this rabbit trail... IF, they do come to a quick conclusion and announce it today, wouldn't that actually help the businesses in Oakland who are boarded up this weekend (losing revenue) instead of waiting till Tuesday, so they shopkeeps have to keep them boarded up?

Just thinking out loud. I mean, it's not like the rioters are going to say "Damn, i was gonna go f... sh.. up but I gotta work on Tuesday!"

FWIW, the TV & radio talking heads have been surprised by just about everything that’s occurred during this trial.

If there isn’t a murder conviction, they *should* riot.

This cop should have saved everyone a lot of trouble by eating a bullet.

Earlier this week the judge instructed the jury to also consider manslaughter as an option. IMO that’s what they’ll convict him of.
