A Veteran Puts Kagan to Shame
power line ^ | 7/2/10 | John

It is a remarkable fact that President Obama has nominated to the Supreme Court a woman who, as dean of Harvard Law School, discriminated against military recruiters in violation of federal law. Remarkable, but true. Yesterday, our friend Pete Hegseth testified in opposition to Kagan's confirmation at the invitation of Republican members of the Judiciary Committee. I find it interesting that his perspective--no doubt representative of most Americans--is one that the Democratic members did not think it necessary to consider as part of the confirmation hearing. Pete stated this part of the case against Elena Kagan eloquently:

And pointedly I might add. He was fabulous and even Hatch seemed moved.

Excellent. I hope everyone takes 5 minutes to watch the video. I couldn’t help but wonder what Sessions and Hatch were thinking while he was talking. I thought perhaps Specter was sleeping but maybe he was reading a handout of the guy’s talk. This guy can’t be labeled a kook or right wing nut job....but that won’t stop the ignorant from trying. He put in his time and did his job honorably. More than we can say for most of the folks he’s addressing his comments to.

It won't matter. The Democtrats at the hearing agree with Kagan. I'm not sure the majority of Americans don't, also. Maybe this fall will tell us. By that time Kagan will be on the Court. The only good part of that is it will be impossible for her to be more liberal than the guy she is replacing.

If one of the conservatives on the court goes down while Obama is there, that will be serious.

Thank you Captain. You put all those worthless deadbeats in the hearings with their self-importance to SHAME. They truly are a disgrace and must be removed. Thank you again Captain. Your statement falls on deaf ears to those slugs behind their little name plates but it sure resonates with US, the “small people”, the surfs.

OUTSTANDING VIDEO - SEND TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS! Tell them to fill their congressmen’s mail boxes with VOTE NO on Kagan! Her breaking Federal law should have been enough to sink her nomination! And what excuse to deny confirmation will the Republicans have if they let this one go through without a filibuster.

All I got to say is, “Wow.” He nailed it. And yet, despite of the overwhelming evidence against her, she’ll still get to sit on the high court in the land deciding cases through her liberal and socialistic colored glasses.

"a moral injustice of the first order."

Well well well. Liberal logic on display. Kagan was working for a University which accepts funds from a nation where homosexuals are executed. So let me get this straight. Barring homosexuals from military service is a moral injustice. But accepting money from a nation which executes homosexuals is morally acceptable? Kagan and other liberals evidently will ignore moral injustice if the price is right.

I would label this as a moral compromise of the first order!

righteous..... a fine expose of Kagan the big talker. What did she actually do? She banned military recruiters because the gays were throwing a snit fit over “don’t ask don’t tell”. Why does America hate Harvard? Kagan is one good reason

In another time, this man’s testimony would have guaranteed the candidate’s rejection by the Senate. Sadly, we are living at a time in which our legislative branch is festering with cancer.

I took the time to listen and would agree well worth everyones time to hear this young military man’s address to congress on his oppostion to Kagan being appointed to the supreme court.

Salient, concise testimony about a....rat. I also heard today that Judge Joe Brown (on tv) has more bench time and a longer legal career than Kagan. Any legs on this? (And I don't mean Kagan's kankles!)

One question every Senator should be required to answer: If Kagan opposed the DADT law, what other laws would she oppose as Supreme Court justice?

No vote should be allowed until each and every Senator answers in a clear, unequivocal manner. To do otherwiswe makes a mockery of the process and the Supreme Court itself!

I understand what you are saying....but my guess is that this guy would have nothing to worry about with an audit.

I say: Increase the focus on the corruption of THIS administration, beginning with the Department of Justice (criminal dismissal of Black Panther Voter Intimidation Case).

Yep. Joe Brown was a Memphis Criminal Courts judge from 1990-2001. He resigned the judgeship because “he had too many irons in the fire”
