MSM Wall Protecting Obama Gulf Oil Spill Response Cracks With Latest AP Report
NewsBusters ^ | July 3, 2010 | P.J. Gladnick

Perhaps it is frustration, as expressed by Anderson Cooper, with the new White House rules inhibiting reports about the Gulf of Mexico oil spill that is now causing a big crack in the Mainstream Media wall which until recently mostly avoided direct criticism of the Obama administration response. However that crack has now turned into a flood of surprising criticism coming from formerly friendly outlets such as the Associated Press. Read this amazing AP report and keep in mind that it is no longer just conservative sources that are harsh in their criticisms of the Obama Gulf oil containment efforts:

NEW ORLEANS — BP and the Obama administration face mounting complaints that they are ignoring foreign offers of equipment and making little use of the fishing boats and volunteers available to help clean up what may now be the biggest spill ever in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Coast Guard said there have been 107 offers of help from 44 nations, ranging from technical advice to skimmer boats and booms. But many of those offers are weeks old, and only a small number have been accepted. The vast majority are still under review, according to a list kept by the State Department.

Thus the reason for the "transparent" administration to severely restrict reportage of the Gulf oil spill. They are doing a TERRIBLE job and don't want their failures to be reported.

This article is funny because it simply isn’t true. False hope, the media is still looking the other way while Obama allows the most devestating enviromental disaster ever and provokes the worse economic meltdown ever.

Actually, the wall had existed until recently. Anderson Cooper was also sharply critical of the Obama administration for attempting to stifle information being reported from the Gulf. Read the ENTIRE article, and you can see AP was highly critical of The One. Maybe this is an exception to the rule but it could mark the beginning of more accurate reports on just how inept this administration has become.

Well Anderson Cooper has begun to lament the lack of transparency, altho to criticize his idol is still not in his vocabulary

"We're not the enemy", he laments, "We're not the enemy"

well, yes you are Anderson, if you want the truth, um-kay?

“with the new White House rules inhibiting reports about the Gulf of Mexico oil spill “

The WH isn’t inhibiting any reports. The CG is simply enforcing the rules that BP has set up, and Obama has approved. These are safety and security rules that keep reporters 65’ away from working ships and from booms.

IT’S ONLY 65’.

NFL Kickers would love to be within 20 yards of the goal.

Cooper is just making an excuse for why the MSM is so behind the rest of the nation, and the internet, in reporting this information.

The only ‘restriction’ on reporting by the MSM is purely SELF-IMPOSED.

They are doing a TERRIBLE job and don't want their failures to be reported.

Actually, they are acting slowly on purpose.

They want the spill to do a lot of damage for these reasons

1) They think they have a better chance of demonizing the oil industry and getting their global warming garbage passed if the spill does NOT get cleaned up quickly and

2) The Gulf States get economically depleted the longer it goes and these are conservative areas so they think it helps them politically...this is why they're trying stuff like shutting refineries in TX.

What the Obama Adminstration is doing is criminal negligence. If the MSM wants to change how they’re handling it, they should suggest the Administration be brought up on charges.

The current administration will come down hard on any news outlet that reveals the truth about his failures. The news outlet will give in and repeat the official White House lies.

By the time the idiots in the Media figure out that 0bama’s nothing but a wanna-be dictator then it will be too late.

The Media is Pravda USA, nothing more and nothing less. There is more objectivity in a Workers World Monthly Magazine.

The Free Press in America is DEAD.

Fascism in America started with the Fascist Press and they are nobody to complain about it at this point.

I know the National Enquirer is not exactly an MSM source, but I happened to see - for the first time - a title on the cover to the effect of “Obama is not American born,” (I don’t remember the exact wording), followed by a list of reasons leading people to believe he is not qualified to be President of the US.

I was the checkout stand at my supermarket and didn’t have time to read it, but I was wondering if the National Enquirer is sort of a bell-whether, indicating that the media is beginning to abandon The Won. This is only after he has kicked them in the teeth repeatedly, of course, but better late than never.

They want to return to the good old days of yester-month when they still believed The O’Bozo-siah would only screw people they didn’t like.

-- Fascism in America started with the Fascist Press and they are nobody to complain about it at this point. --

If they can convince their listeners that they are being muzzled, it builds on the myth that the media is independent and objective.

Isn't The Enquirer owned by a Hillary crony?

I believe it was a Dem operative that brought up the issue of Obama's citizenship during Hillary's campaign.
