The salsa had a good flavor, but it needs more jalapenos! I am going to make some hotter stuff to take back to Indiana next week when we go on vacation. Our 12 y.o. has been there for a month (with her brother) visiting the grandparents, and I think she would appreciate some homemade salsa. It would be cheaper than trying to keep the store bought stuff around the house with her around, LOL.

Lazy me would just add some cayenne to spice it up. I always buy low heat cayenne. I rather use more of that (if I have to) than dabble with the really hot stuff. I always look for cayenne with a nice bright redish-orange look. My local Indian grocery store has it and lots of other spices. Asian Indian of course
Maybe I’ll just put some hot sauce or something in it! LOL
I told my daughter this morning when she called from Indiana that I was bringing her some salsa...she sounded pleased. Better tell my folks to load up on tortilla chips :)
Sorry for the late reply.
I’m part Hungarian on my dad’s side and 100% on my mom’s-My grandpa and uncles used to make sutni szalona back in Cleveland-they chopped up green pepper and onion and put it on the bread before dripping the bacon fat on it (with chopped hot peppers for those who wanted it—it’s the best!
Are you from the Cleveland area?-lots of Hungarians there
