Name One Difference Between World Opinion and Left-Wing Opinion
Jewish World Review ^ | July 6, 2010 | Dennis Prager

Here's a challenge: Can you name one difference between what the media refer to as "world opinion" and Left-wing opinion?

Take all the time you need. But no matter how much time you take, you probably won't come up with any examples.

The world's media and virtually all international organizations are Leftist in their politics, and they both define "world opinion" and in turn shape it.

Of course, there are other powerful institutions in the world that shape public opinion. But virtually none contravene the Left-wing views of the world's media and world organizations on world issues.

Take Islam, for example. Islamic institutions shape the opinions of the majority of the world's billion Muslims. But while the Left and Islam diverge on a great number of issues -- women's rights, gay rights, individual rights, press freedom, freedom of dissent, religious pluralism, just to name a few major ones -- they coincide on international issues and views of America.

The Islamic world, Leftist media and the United Nations agree on virtually every international issue -- on the villainy of Israel first and foremost, on support for the United Nations, on weakening American influence around the world, on opposition to the use of American force in Iraq and Afghanistan, on abolishing nuclear weapons, etc.

To better understand how the Left, the United Nations and most international institutions determine "world opinion," take the issue of manmade global warming. The United Nations declared global warming a closed issue, the world's media uncritically echo the U.N. report, and that's it.

Left-wing opinion is believed to be superior to most other discussion but world opinion is supposed to serve as the trump card. Can't beat it, end of discussion (so long as it's anti-America\freedom\individual rights).

If you look at some of the idiots running the rest of the world.... well, it's hard to defend with the current idiot(s) running this country.

I guess the difference is one opinion stinks here and the other stinks over there.

Right now the clash of cultures involve the left (socialism/marxism), islam, and what used to be western culture which has pretty much shrunk to just the US.

Both Islam and the left see traditional western culture (freedom, capitalism and the rule of law), the US being the last bastion, as their principal enemy. So they have joined forces to destroy it, even though there are hardly any values that they share. This is analogous to the US and the Soviets becoming allies against their common enemy, Germany and Japan, even though they had little in common.

They figure they’ll settle their differences once western society is destroyed.

If they succeed in defeating the west, the left will have to morph into a ruthless stalinist left (from the currently effeminate left) if it hopes to have a chance against the islamists.

The spirit if the Antichrist is alive and well with "world opinion."

Quite frankly, it now is not hard at all to imagine how the world will so blindly follow the son of Satan into the pit without even a whimper.

World Opinion cheered when America passed Socialized Medicine.

US Liberal Opinion denies it is socialist in anyway and denies that it will be expanded to encompass single payer with the erradication of private insurance.

Barack himself has said private insurance will go away even if it takes 20 years to get there.

The rest of the world doesn’t live here and vote. Most of them.
