Tulsa, OK - A home invasion suspect is in custody after being shot by the homeowner during a robbery.
Police said Melvin Dan forced his way in to an apartment around 5:30 a.m. Monday at the Wellsford Oaks near 15th and Riverside. According to the arrest report Dan put a gun to the face of the homeowners and forced them into a bathroom. One of the homeowners had a gun of his own and shot the suspect through the bathroom door.
Dan fled the scene but later showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The victims identified him as the suspect who broke in to their house. The homeowners were shaken up but not seriously injured.
Dan is being held in the Tulsa county jail for armed robbery and possession of a firearm during a felony.
Thread Bump.
You would think that were true, but apparently that learning is not as widespread as we'd hope. Home invasion robberies are on the rise. I guess that those who commit such acts aren't the people most capable of learning. Then of course the idiotic police following the idiotic orders of idiotic politicians in places like NY, MA, MD, etc. will charge the home or business owner with a crime for protecting their property and their lives. Something that encourages criminal behavior.
Plus, can't have the peasants protecting themselves. The peasants might get the idea that large number of tax swilling police and bureaucrats are not as necessary to "public safety" as the aforementioned police and bureaucrats claim they are.
Yeah, I'm ok with that too. ;-)
The old hidden Roscoe in the john trick, eh? Fools them every time!
Pic of the perp at the link. Amish.

Melvin looks a bit, uh, out of it.
Outstanding!
Good shooting, Citizen. Civilization thanks you.
Thanks for posting...saves me the trouble. :)
Good news. The right to self-defense can not be taken away by any government anywhere.
He doesn’t appear excited about learning from his mistakes, that’s for sure.
How many keep a gun in their bathroom? I’d think the moisture would lead to rust.
I like the way they wrote the headline...
Too bad they couldn’t say “Home Invader Shot Dead.”
1. He had the gun in his pocket, didn’t draw it when the invader had his gun aimed at him. Smart thinking.
2.If they had a linen cabinet for towels in the bathroom, the rust threat would be minimal as long as the gun was covered or kept in between a couple of towels.
