PITTSBURGH -- A big name comedian made a stop in Pittsburgh this weekend, but according to TMZ.com, it was for all the wrong reasons.

The website said a private jet carrying comedian Dave Chappelle had to make an emergency landing Friday night at Pittsburgh International Airport.

According to TMZ sources, Chappelle was on a private flight from New Jersey to Ohio, where he lives. TMZ said the flight was forced to land in Pittsburgh when Chappelle “freaked out,” refused to put his seat belt on and repeatedly walked into the cockpit, bothering pilots.

I’m curious as to why the cockpit was so easily accessible to him. Seems like it should be locked in flight.

That was my first thought when reading it.

I think the closest he got to ever parodying Bush was the “Black Bush” skit.

And it wasn’t really insulting to Bush at all.

Chappelle Show was probably one of the only Comedy Central shows besides South Park that I watched religously. His comedy might have been crass, but it was all too often spot on.

Tyrone Biggums was the absolute funniest character Chappelle ever did - loved the "Intervention" episode but especially the episode when Tyrone goes into a classroom of kids to talk about the dangers of drugs...and the kids are taking notes when he mentions his suppliers. ROTFLOL funny!

Sad to hear Dave is having some issues - he was living in Yellow Springs, OH just a short drive from me albeit a mini-version of Soviet Russia and home of commie Antioch College.

This is one of my favorites because it shows Wayne Brady being 180 degrees from what you expect out of him. (Language warning)

So who is Dave Chappelle and why should anyone care, if he freaks out?

The double standard is clear.

There is no way you could criticize the President the way people criticized President Bush.

I think part of Chappelle's reticence to do anti-Bush comedy was (1) its time-bound nature - topical humor ages very quickly and (2) he was clearly very uncomfortable doing jokes that everyone else was doing - that's a sign of mediocrity.

The one Bush skit he did - interestingly in the context of your comment - was one called "Black Bush", i.e. an alternate universe in which President Bush was African-American.

It was completely unlike every other Bush joke/skit at the time and one that was not obviously anti-Bush.

He probably went Clayton Bigsby when he found out the pilots were black.

the comedian ate something that didn't sit well with him, and the plane's bathroom wasn't what he needed.

Aw, Dave. You're not at a Grateful Dead show.

Did you catch the piece about when we finally paid “reparations” to all African Americans?

When has Dave Chappelle not been freaked out? When it's contained on a stage or on video, it's funny. When it's out in the world, sometimes it's not.

His Clayton Bigsby blind black white supremist skit was fall-down-on-the-floor hilarious, as was his ‘documentary’ of Rick James.

No matter how many times Comedy Central replays the episode with Charlie Murphy telling the story, Dave's portrayal of Rick James, I laugh hard enough to bring tears! The PC-sports draft is still funny, too.

Paul Mooney on Imus several months ago, they talked about Chappelle, Mooney said Dave got seriously messed up (in the head) when he went to Africa. Whatever happened then, is going on now, much too bad for a truly gifted comic.

I once road in a private plane and started to panic...it was so small and hot inside. Yes, Im a closet claustrophobic and wanted to get out. I was calmed by my best friend’s mother......this was way back before I knew about Xanax
