The U.S. Government has filed charges against U.S. Army Private First Class Bradley E. Manning after being accused of releasing a classified video showing an airstrike in Iraq.
Manning, 22, is being accused of sharing classified documents with website Wikileaks.org, which in April, posted a video from July 12, 2007 that was recorded from a U.S. Apache helicopter. The video shows an airstrike in Baghdad, Iraq, in which several people were killed, including two journalists and civilians.
Manning is being charged for wrongfully introducing a classified video of a military operation [ ] onto his personal computer, a non-secure information system, according to a charge sheet.
In addition, between November 19, 2009 and May 27, 2010, Manning allegedly exceeded his authorized access on a Secret Internet Protocol Router network computer and acquired information from the U.S. Defense Department. The charge sheet alleges that Manning accessed over 150,000 diplomatic cables.

Hang him, her ... or whatever!
So why did Obama want this guy prosecuted?
Looks like he’s going to do serious time.
It’s just too bad for him that Kool and the Gang are in charge and want to make an example out of anyone who dares leak on their watch.
Were dear old, noblesse oblige, kick-me sign-wearing GWB still in office, our boy would almost certainly have gotten off with a wrist slap.
I’ve seen the photo of Pfc. Bradley Manning. He’s got a real purty mouth. I’m sure he’ll be making new friends in Leavenworth.
Obama should prosecute himself for being a national security threat.
Nobody is going to leak ANYTHING while the One is in office.
Only Obama and his cronies are authorized to embarrass themselves. All others will pay the price.
In short it is called SIPRNET.
According to another story on Manning, he could be looking at a maximum of 52 years when all is said and done.
Better than facing a firing squad, I suppose, but I can’t imagine being 22 knowing I might not see freedom again until I was 74.
Then again, I can’t imagine being so stupid and/or disloyal as to leak classified Army documents, either.
Conjugal visits, maybe..
He has umm identity problems lol

Most likely did you see the wiki leaks link? lol
The films showed armed Iraqi marauders accompanied by what turned out to be a news team. When they were initially shot, a minvan came out of nowhere to pick up the bodies/wounded, but ALSO THEIR WEAPONS. This van was then hit and it was later found to have two dead children in the back seat, something the gunship pilots could not have seen.
What kind of bastard would risk their children to rescue terrorists esp. after they had been spotted and attacked by US forces?
US group forces reported that the van came from enemy territory as they controlled most other entry points to where the terrorists were attacked.
Yes, but this occurred on July 12, 2007, Obama wasn’t in office yet. Posting the video was an embarrassment to the Bush administration in its prosecution to the war.
Pfc. Bradley Manning should be charged with Treason!
He appears to be a pre-op transsexual. His problem will be that Leavenworth is probably more restrictive regarding prison rape than he’d like. He laments about not being able to “transition” before going to jail and seems to prefer execution. Tough... What gets me is what the gov’t will give a clearance to these days.
Clearly he has a problem that would prevent him from having a security clearance if the government knew about it. Seems that the government does not do proper security clearance investigations anymore...
But they don't show the attack on the van. The question is, what were those Reuters reporters doing when this happened? Is it possible that they were helping the enemy in some way? And why would the Apache pilots direct people on the ground to that location to collect intell and photograph if they knew they had just murdered a bunch of people?
Answer; A democrat..
