Democrats digging harder than ever for dirt on Republicans
Washington Post ^ | 07/07/10 | Phillip Rucker

Posted on 07/07/2010 6:38:43 AM PDT by KentTrappedInLiberalSeattle

The Democratic Party is moving faster and more aggressively than in previous election years to dig up unflattering details about Republican challengers. In House races from New Jersey to Ohio to California, Democratic operatives are seizing on evidence of GOP candidates' unpaid income taxes, property tax breaks and ties to financial firms that received taxpayer bailout money.

In recent weeks, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has circulated information to local reporters about Republican candidates in close races. Among the claims:

-- That Jim Renacci of Ohio once owed nearly $1.4 million in unpaid state taxes.

-- That David Harmer of California received $160,000 in bonus and severance pay from a firm that got a federal bailout.

-- That Jon Runyan of New Jersey got a legal break in property taxes for his 25-acre homestead by qualifying for a farmland assessment thanks to his four donkeys.

They must find dirt, because their ideology has now been put into practice and found to be completely wrong for America......they can’t win on the merits of their beliefs.

Minor stuff but the point is to get anything at all to the mainstream media, who'll start beating the drum on their behalf.

The dirtbags in the press will happily carry fiction if need be.

With marxists its all about winning at any costs.

And, if they “have to” tell lies about their political opponents, and smear them every which way from Sunday, they are only doing it because they “have to” get elected, don’cha know?
That’s why Robert Byrd became a KKK grand wizard. He “had to” do it to get elected. So, anything they “have to” do is just ok.

This is the Leftist way.

In so many arguments that I've had with people on the Left, they go right to insults when they run out of facts.

They don't have any good ideas to campaign on, so their only hope is to dig up dirt on the Right.

Democrat Serial Killer racist la Raza member: “Did you hear that the Republican senator threw a candy wrapper on the ground? Unclean! Unclean!”

Dem Politician that took $5 million in bribes : “You can’t elect my vile colleague from across the aisle. He once had a library book that was not turned in until 52 DAYS after the due date!!!”

Dem who drove into the river and let his female companion drown: “We cannot sit idly by and allow a Republican *spits* to be put on the ballot who actually got not one, but TWO parking tickets within a 48 month period. I'm shocked, SHOCKED! and disgusted that the other side would stoop to allowing such vermin to possibly represent them!”

This article does make at least one valid point, even if it is subtle. Repubs and conservative candidates should point out Obama’s flaws and how bad things have been, but they need to make sure to focus on how that’s affecting their local areas. There’s an old saying, “The mob is fickle”. Voters may not like the high unemployment and weak economy, but if your campaigning in an area that still has a fairly strong employment picture, the voters are not going to latch onto that issue as strongly as say voters in an area where businesses are leaving. The point is that we (ie conservatives) do ourselves a huge disservice to believe we can just sit on our asses and let the bad environment do the work for us. This debate has to be framed not only nationally but also on the local level as well.

I’m wondering if and when Marco Rubio will make an issue of the fact Charlie Crist said in February 2008 he’d consider slavery reparations.

Hello??? MARCO???

Because they have no idea what to do for the country (outside their usual tax the shit out of us; spend even more). All they can do is try and drag others down into the gutter with them.

Despicable people..
