Obama dodges a Senate debate on his ideal Medicare chief.
White House respect for the public's health-care views dropped another notch yesterday, if that's possible, with its recess appointment of Donald Berwick. Circumventing Senate confirmation to appoint the new Medicare chief is part of the same political willfulness that inflicted ObamaCare on the country despite the objections of most voters.
Even Max Baucus, the Senate Finance Chairman, issued a statement critical of this end-around. President Obama claimed Republicans were stalling the appointment "for political purposes," but Mr. Baucus hadn't scheduled hearings and the nomination paperwork wasn't even finished 11 weeks after he was named. Mr. Obama's real calculation was to dodge a debate in election season over Dr. Berwick's frequent praise for European health systems that ration care. The last thing most Democrats want now is to reprise the ObamaCare controversy.

The “medical policy left” is MUCH too utilitarian, and MUCH too enamored of “the government knows best”. Let’s return to a Judeo-Christian ethic and the Hippocratic Oath rather than utilitarianism, and let’s have a health care system that takes account of the realities of medical innovation today as stated in the WSJ article.

The “medical policy left” may be wrongheaded in their philosophy, but obama is USING them for his muslim, communist purposes—to destroy America as we have known it and turn it into a Third World country. obama’s death plan (disguised as “health care reform”) is a key element of his plan for this “radical change”.
Despite their Ivy degrees and acceptance as leaders in their field, they are nothing more than useful idiots for obama/Soros and their vile, evil agenda. May our gracious Lord illumine them by his Holy Spirit!!!!
I agree if you mean the white hot light of truth be shined upon said cockroaches, exposing the evil of this thrust of theirs. But if you mean't that they could become enlightened and see the horrible error of their ways... I guess I'm a doubting Thomas!
I pray for the illumination of the Most Holy and Life-Creating Spirit for all manner of enemies, even the muslims. During Divine Liturgy every Sunday, I pray “that they may be illumined” for the President and our public officials at least twice!

Folks, you need to understand what Berwick meant by his comment on “rationing with our eyes open”.
That means that health care will be rationed, not by blind, unbiased processes of the market where individuals make their own decisions about what they want to get and spend,
but those rationing decisions will be made by
BIASED SOCIALISTS WITH AN AXE TO GRIND.
They will use their power to ration to punish those whom they have despised all along and favor those that they see as their sheep or their benefactors.
