The MSM 34 years ago were docile compared to today. These days the gloves are off, and their overt leftism is on full display...

It's a different world. 1976 was before CNN, before Crossfire, before Fox News, before the Internet. Cable was WTBS and WGN. They weren't the MSM then...they were the media, period.

The sum total of conservative media was Firing Line and National Review...and the editorial page of the WSJ. Not exactly main stream.

Is the media/MSM harder left than 35 years ago? I think so. The hard Left 35 years ago were the reporters. Now, they are the editors and the journalism school professors...and the reporters.

They are also becoming increasingly irrelevant. They are merely a part of the larger media now, and their product reeks in comparison. Their bias and agenda work only on those who don't know better...a shrinking number. As they are marginalized, they will become increasingly biased, agenda driven, and shrill. It's not a sign we're losing; it's a sign we're winning.

So let me put my statement in context:

”Those of us who were politically aware during that time have a viewpoint not shaped by media bias.“

When you lived it, you don't depend upon some recent activist journalist to explain to you what happened or what it means. I don't care what some website says about Reagan and his treatment by the Media, I lived it and experienced it and witnessed the effect on those around me.

So I can say with total confidence...yeah, it's the same thing. They can't even come up with a new script.

Ya know, this concern over whether or not Palin walks into a trap implies that she isn’t smart enough to figure this out. I for one think she has the smarts to figure it out. And I think she is more than smart enough to take political advantage of it...

I think it's naive to think that Palin won't step into some traps, since there are so many determined to set them.

I think its naive to forget that she’s already been subjected to this tyranny and beaten it. I just love people who’re so much smarter than the rest of us.
