With the economy floundering, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., told Ohio voters today that he and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., would focus on one specific issue that Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has neglected.

“Look, John’s last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S,” the Democratic veep nominee said at a morning rally in Athens.

During last year’s Christmas “buying” season, I was walking through the DelAmo Fashion Center mall. I walked in front of an “aahs” store. If you’ve never seen one, it’s kind of like Spencers from the 70’s & 80’s. They sell t-shirts, gag gifts and neo-retro stuff. They have a Betty Boop section, Lakers, Peanuts, Batman, etc.

Well, right in the entrance was a giant shrine to Barack Øbama. They had posters, shirts, mugs, stickers, blah blah blah.

I stood there with my jaw dropped and turned 360° to see about every other store in this HUGE and formerly bustling mall was boarded up...out of business... shut down.

After my full circle of viewing the economic destruction, there I was back at the pile of BO’s smiling face.

The irony still makes me nauseous.

One of the Fuddruckers near me closed, but the main one seems to be doing alright. That one is reportedly Mark Cuban’s favorite quickie hamburger place, so maybe he’ll save it. ;)

I wouldn’t be surprised if Macy’s at the mall near me goes under. This mall now caters almost exclusively to illegal immigrants, and Macy’s is too expensive for them. The place is a virtual ghost town.

Reading this toll made me physically ill.

What is really appalling is how general the businesses are.

Discount stores, luxury watches, entertainment, building supplies, sporting goods, luxury and business clothing, electronics . . .

This is sickening.

Seems like the Kenyan Muzzie is succeeding beyond all expectations in destroying the economy, medical system, border, culture, space program, military, auto industry, oil industry, and coal industry of the USA.

There are some high-end companies closing their stores, so the lack of consumer spending is evidently affecting all levels.

I was surprised to see shutterred up stores on 57th Street in Manhattan, which is known for the highest rent per square foot in the world. Our cities are starting to look like third world inhabited ghost towns.

Look for the Obama to lose the House, and maybe the Senate.

People are starting to discover that they really don’t need a lot of the services/crap that these businesses offer...

Copy-n-paste this list as a rebuttal to any lefty voter still clinging to Obamanomics who might offer up this or that tortured statistic to prove a ‘recovery’ exists.

THIS is real-world economic activity. THESE are real jobs, real estate transactions and commerce. Except now they’re not.

A lot of these closures come as no surprise, many of the retailers were space holders in malls. I never saw many shoppers, even during the good days.

Didn't he get the number of states in the United States wrong too?

That's the way with leftist "intellectuals"... not to worry - the MSM has a pass for him... this kind of gaff is never covered if it's from the mouth of a dem.

This is really bad when you see this:

SAM'S CLUB Announced: January 11, 2010 In January, Bloomberg reported that Wal-Mart Store's Inc. said it was closing 10 "financially underperforming" Sam's Club locations in the U.S. However, the company also said it has plans to add six more stores this year. Wal-Mart operated 605 Sam's Club stores as of Oct. 31, 2009.

And this one too!

DOLLAR STORE Announced: May 8, 2010 A 37-store network of Dollar Store outlets in Washington and Oregon announced they will be closing, just weeks after the parent company filed for bankruptcy in late March.

I got tired of going there and waiting in line while the cashier did a price check.

This is tragic for our area of southern Ohio. Many of those jobs are about the only jobs left.

Government solution: let’s tax them more.

If I were a retail outlet owner, why in the world would I bring someone new on if it’s obvious that my business costs are going to skyrocket?
