The lame duck session after the election is the biggest threat this country has faced for a long time. In 2011, GOP controls House, and strong filibuster-enabling minority in the Senate, but lame duck session is the current one..

Dems will try to push all leftist agenda items then, union thug intimidation act, amnesty, cap and trade.

Unfortunately, given GOP's lack of backbone they may succeed at least in some of them. GOP should fight 100% and filibuster every leftist bill and just wait 2011 session. Don't hold your breath, though.

Winning the Nov election may be too late if they pass amnesty, cap and trade and union act in lame duck session.

GOP should also campaign on this and make sure people understand the thuggery that's going on. Don't hold your breath to this either..

The 41 GOP Senators need to filibuster everything, including the most inane motions or harmless amendments. Nothing gets done until the new Senate is sworn in.

We’ll see what they’re made of. I don’t think we’re going to like the answer.

I had a similar, but less extreme solution: the GOP should filibuster anything that does not have the support of a majority of the GOP caucus, and should announce its intention to do so in a statement signed by all 41 GOP Senators.

Quorum call won’t work: a quorum in each house of Congress is a simple majority of the members. It’s filibuster in the Senate or nothing.

Check the constitution. A quorum is 51 Senators present. they don't need us to establish a quorum and by not showing up we allow them to pass everything unanimously. Show up, sit down and allow absolutely nothing to take place.

Well, We the People could show up day after day when they're in session with torches, pitchforks, tar and feathers.

The Obama-Pelosi Lame Duck Strategy (Pass everything after election!)

And this would be a change?

Seems to me that this has been the strategy all along.

The recently passed outrages will just be that fresher in memory.

All the more reason to vote against every rat at every level in November. First order of business in 2011 - reversing, repealing the country killing “laws” passed by the commie, muzzie loving elites.

There is an opportunity for any Conservative Senators, up for reelection in November, to draw a line in the sand right now, and commit their support for conservative values come the Lame Duck session. They could commit now that they will join with any effort to stop the potential Reid-Pelosi push for legislation not in the Will of the People.

Any freepers out there in states with such a senator - What say you??

And I was thinking of Conservative democratic senators, but don’t know of any?

The danger of a lame duck Congressional session has always been known. The difference this time is the majority of the electorate is energized and watching.

If either party thinks they can rape our wallets one more time and pay no penalty they are wrong.

The dimocratic party will pay for it for years - as long as any dimocrat who voted for the rape remain in any public office. For those who are leaving, they had better plan on moving far away for the same reason.

The same holds true for RINOs.

The more I see the more I understand Regan's quip about the first and second professions sharing a lot of similarities.

Do these people not realize that they live amongst us 'common folk', whether they are in Congress or not? They will be getting an earful from me every time I see them, until the end of time (and maybe afterward too).

Hope they show up at restaurants I frequent.
