Speaking at a campaign rally Thursday for Colorado Senate candidate Ken Buck, former Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) called President Barack Obama the greatest threat facing America today.
After recalling the nuclear threat from the former Soviet Union, Tancredo said, "We had that threat and we survived it. Later we found out we had another threat to our way of life, and that was al Qaeda. We found that out on 9/11."
Tancredo continued, "But I firmly believe this it's not just, you know, sort of a dramatic statement that a person would make to get press or something, or ink. I believe this with all my heart. The greatest threat to the United States today, the greatest threat to our liberty, the greatest threat to the Constitution of the United States, the greatest threat to our way of life, everything we believe in, the greatest threat to the country that was put together by the Founding Fathers is the guy that is in the White House today."
On a conference call with reporters after the event, Buck denounced Tancredo's remarks and said he does not view Obama as the nation's greatest threat.
"I was surprised when Tom said that," Buck said. "I think he tends to exaggerate sometimes."
Of President Obama, Buck said, "I respect him as our leader."
Buck faces a Republican primary against former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton.
Tom tells it like it is.
Not many republicans will stand up to Obama.
I just lost all respect for Buck.
HELL YES
Yup. He’s got this one 155% correct.
The understatement of the millenium.
“the greatest threat to our liberty, the greatest threat to the Constitution of the United States, the greatest threat to our way of life, everything we believe in, the greatest threat to the country that was put together by the Founding Fathers is the guy that is in the White House today.”
This statement is nearly biblical in its truth. The President has done nothing but try to undo 230 years of work in only 18 months.
Wow. Buck just disqualified himself for public office.
I love Tancredo, not that he will get the nomination to run but he may try.
I sincerely advise this; when it comes time to vote for a president we all need to be together and vote AGAINST Obama, for anyone of these guys running on that Republican ticket is Right of Obama..
The Buck guy sounds like a typical chicken sh** politician. Tom hit the nail on the head.
Gingrich has been saying the same thing, a lot. You don’t have to be a bomb thrower to think this - it’s just plain true.
True dat!
Teachers, from pre-school to university, are not just the greatest threat to America, but to the western world.
When conservatives gave "the classroom" to the left in the late 70's, the war was lost.
"I was surprised when Tom said that," Buck said. "I think he tends to exaggerate sometimes."
Of President Obama, Buck said, "I respect him as our leader."
Don't know who this Buck guy is--Don't care!
That said, unless he has some other VERY Conservative redeeming principles and philosophies, he does not appear to be someone who we want in Congress--someone who will "Defend," and thus, no doubt, support Dear Leader, in other words--A FLAMING RINO!!!
Tom is only partially correct on this one, the ENTIRE DEMOCRAT PARTY is now a mortal threat to the country.
As with the universities, the legal profession, and the unions, the Democrat party has become a fully owned subsidiary of international socialism.
I am often frustrated when other conservatives try to hang our rapid slide to the left squarely on Obama. Switch him out with any of the other Dem candidates from 08 (Hillary, Biden, etc) the end result would have been the same.
It is time for all of the Republicans running this fall to point this out and hammer this home if they wish to take the House and Senate back this fall.
Tancredo should withdraw his praise of Buck and support Jane Norton.
No Buck$ for you, Buck. Smell ya’ later.
Buck is nothing more than a cowardly little pu@@y. This is an example of why many conservatives now view republican politicians in almost as bad a light as the rats.
I’m surprised he could remove his lips from the back of Zero’s nutsack long enough to make such a weakling comment.
