NBC changes rules to allow gay `Today' wedding

After a meeting with gay and lesbian activists on Thursday, NBC's "Today" show said it is changing the rules for its annual wedding contest to allow same-sex couples to apply for a ceremony conducted on morning TV.

NBC extended the deadline for applications until Monday. Already thousands of couples have expressed interest in the on-air wedding, which the top-rated morning show has sponsored for a decade, a spokeswoman said.

"We're thrilled that `Today' show's `Modern Wedding Contest' now recognizes what most fair-minded Americans have already concluded — a wedding celebrates love and commitment, whether the spouses are straight or gay," said Jarrett Barrios, president of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

Well the Presbyterian Church (USA) is about to amend the book of order to say that marriage is between “two people.” And they’re going to give insurance to gay families. So maybe the Today winners can get married in a PC(USA) church!

Something about hell and handbaskets...

“What fair-minded Americans have already concluded”

Oh really? If that was in fact the case, I wouldn’t be complaining. So far, all these “victories” were brought about by a handful of liberal judges making their own laws.

So the next dozen or so “weddings” will all be homosexual justification weddings.
And they wonder why their rates are in the tank.

There’s a reason that I’ve not watched TV in years.

Welp hey, NBC has the right to do whatever it wants to attract viewers.

The thing here is for such a thing to repel viewers. Which it will, if a same-sex couple should be selected.

But if the public tunes in....well that’s the free market and so be it.

Forced to participate? Does your television not have an OFF button?

If more people just turned this pablum off, the problem would eliminate itself.

Marriage is between “two people”? Well, that clearly discriminates against polygamists! I’m sure “fair-minded people” can agree that we are not going to tolerate such intolerance from the Presbyterian church! And that doesn’t even cover polygamists who practice bestiality! Shame on the Presbyterian Church for its narrow-minded bigotry!

somehow, I don’t see a whole bunch of bored housewives and retirees voting to watch a summer gay wedding. But I’m just guessing, I know nothing of the viewership of the Today show.

I haven’t watched the show in over 10 years, so can’t boycott, and am not the least bit surprised. Most tv today, including the so called news, is far too offensive for viewing.

Well the Presbyterian Church (USA) is about to amend the book of order to say that marriage is between “two people"

The next thing to fall will be the requirement of only two people. How will anyone limit marriage to any definition? Upon what bedrock of law?

We are witnessing the crumbling of the basic foundation of society.

I guess they missed all the gay marriage initiatives that have been soundly defeated in state after state.

Just turn the TV off and do something else. There
is no requirement to watch TV.

Although I don't like it much, I'm not terribly surprised that NBC would go this route and bow to Sodomite's demands that same-sex couples be included in the Today wedding contest.

The media has long been pro-homosexual and has often broadcast drama and comedy shows with homosexual behavior presented as 'normal' Few sane people buy into the desperate attempts by Sodomites to portray their deviancy as 'normal' and 'natural'. It isn't. However, the insane PC culture has foisted the concept of homosexual behavior as an 'alternative lifestyle' and those who engage in that behavior as 'victims of society' and, 'minorities'.

The meme is that any disapproval of homosexual behavior is tantamount to an ugly form of bigotry on your part. Of course, since many of those in opposition to the attempt to normalize homosexual behavior base their opposition on their religious beliefs (for Christians, the Bible) the advocates for 'gay marriage' sneer and curse at them and call it 'religious bigotry' and, the big buzz word: (all together now) 'hate'. This is supposed to shut you up and send you scurrying away, muttering apologies as you go. It doesn't work. Just about every major religion in the world condemns/prohibits sodomy and that includes Islam, the left's new favorite religion.

The good thing with this silly NBC wedding contest and admitting homosexual 'couples' into the game is that the Today show viewers pick the winning couple. Now, it could easily be rigged but I doubt that America is going to vote en mass for two guys or woman planning a faux 'wedding'. Of course, in these topsy-turvy times, I could be proven wrong. I hope not.
