Hi waitress, Ill take a well-done hamburger with a side order of Xanax, please. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has out-crazied Ahmadinejad, who only wrote letters to the Hidden Imam in the Jamkaran well and said he was guided by God in preparing the way for the Imams intervention. According to a senior cleric, Khamenei is telling his inner circle that he has actually met the Hidden Imam and that he promised to appear during Khameneis tenure as Supreme Leader. Yikes.
I can only think of three reasons that Khamenei would tell his advisors this:
1) Hes lying, and hes just attempting to sooth the fears of his closest advisors by trying to convince them that divine intervention is on the way.
2) Hes lying and hes trying to instill confidence in his inner circle ahead of a major war that will usher in the appearance of the Hidden Imam who will bring them victory.
3) He actually believes he met the Hidden Imam, perhaps under the influence of the opium he is widely rumored to being treated with. Khamenei is greatly emboldened and believes war is imminent with an inevitable Shiite Islamic victory.
Two out of the three scenarios involve a belief that war is imminenta war that, despite all the odds, the Iranians cant lose because God is going to save the day. And thats how they differ from the Sovietsthe Soviets didnt even believe in God. The Iranian regime believes in God and is certain that this messianic figure is going to win the final grand war over Islams enemies during the End Times, in which we are living.

Actually, if I was an aged cleric surrounded by suicidal "true believers," that's the last thing I'd say! Otherwise, it might just occur to them to "speed" things up a little! I can see the headlines of the "Teheran Daily," now:
Crazed Bodyguard Attacks Ayatollah
Tenure of Severerly Wounded Supreme Leader to End within Days
Regards,
It took a Commie like Allende to lead Chile to Pinochet.
...or a failure like Carter to lead us to a success like Reagan...
Maybe he figures that Israel is going to attack soon and wants the rest of the fruit cakes properly stirred up.
At that point, I would hope that our Military would stand up to the President and say “It ain’t happenin.”
Maybe he figures that Israel is going to attack soon and wants the rest of the fruit cakes properly stirred up. Iranian whackos. Gee...we just have SOOOO mush to thank Jimmuh Carter for!!!
The concept of Islamic clerics seeing things supernatural, mainly in dreams, goes all the way back to Moe Hammed himself.
Who can argue or challenge what someone claims to have seen in a dream?
The savior is alive and well in the White House but his message is being rebuffed by the Mullahs.
Like Douglas Adams wrote in the Hitchhikers Guide, aliens came but were disregarded because they were dogs

Horowitz has openly admitted he committed treason against the United States. He confessed in an article written by him and published in his own online zine, FrontPage, on October 3, 2000. In the article, titled “The Wen Ho Lee Cover-Up”, Horowitz claimed that Wen Ho Lee was guilty of espionage, but the government decined to press charges because of the damage it would do to the inteligence services and William Clinton’s presidential legacy.
As anecdotal evidence to back-up this claim, he describes his own premeditated actions that violated the U.S. Espionage code in 1972, for which was never prosecuted.
Ramparts, a magazine he was editor of, had acquired classified intelligence information from a former NSA operative and had published it, eventhough one of their own staffers, who had formerly served in Army Intelligence, had judged the information to be truthful, and refused to work on the story, and Horowitz knew this prior to the publication of the Ramparts story.
Horowitz also sought the advice of a prominent Constitutional scholar before publishing it, who had explained to him the best methods of avoiding prosecution for this act of treason.
Horowitz was an activist in the New Left movement in the 1960s and claims to have been “a lifelong civil rights activist”. From 1969 to 1975 he was editor of an anti-Vietnam war magazine Ramparts.
However, currently, Horowitz is known to side with corporate interests and conservative ideals, and is best described as a neo-con. He is now a “lapsed leftist”.
In the 1990s, Horowitz hosted several Second Thinkers conferences where ex-leftists who recanted or underwent epiphanies could network with fellow travelers. Several of these second thinkers are now neo-cons. Christopher Hitchens was a regular participant at these conferences, and today co-organizes events with Horowitz.
In his Marxist days, Horowitz authored several books including Free World Colossus, Corporations and the Cold War, Empire and Revolution, Marx and Modern Economics, Shakespeare: An Existential View and The Fate of Midas, which he has subsequently repudiated.
He has subsequently collaborated with Peter Collier on several biographies of famous American families, including The Rockefellers: An American Dynasty, The Kennedys: An American Drama, and The Fords: An American Epic.
This story from Whoreowitz? Why should I believe anything this leftist pos prints?
They will obey any lawful order.
Louis Farrakhan already said that Obama is the Messiah (i.e., Mahdi). This Youtube video has been widely expurgated, but I found a copy here. Sorry about the brief ad:

Have you read David Horowitz’s own words concerning his conversion to a Conservative? If not, read “Radical Son” about how he was raised a Marxist and yet in the early 80’s started to recognize the destructive nature of the left.
I think a man who has spent 20+ years fighting his former comrades has paid his dues.
The Hidden Imam’s name is Uranium 235.
You are afraid of the bogeymen Jews, aren’t you?
You are in essence claiming that Horowitz, the Jew-neocon, is fomenting a story to get the US to take out Israel’s enemy Iran. Do I have that right?
I’m just wondering exactly WHO do you believe?
