The man shot by police outside a Summerlin Costco store on Saturday was a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point with a master's degree from Duke University, friends said.
Army veteran Erik Scott, 39, was at the store near Charleston Boulevard and the Las Vegas Beltway with his girlfriend before three officers fatally shot him in a confrontation.

What a simple lie, told because of some moron’s “my emotions were hurt” knee jerk, can do.
Now we see another dimension to the libtard mindset: merely talking back to them is "going beserk."
The sad thing is that everything we know about this guy suggests that he is the MODEL type of citizen that we should want to have a concealed carry license - army veteran, highly trained West Point grad, upstanding citizen. And he was gunned down apparently because some liberal pantywaist saw his gun and called the cops to report him as if he were a “terrorist.”

Costco should be held fully responsible as having employed the officers to gun down a lawful citizen; if it had been a Gangs’ta it would have been profiling and no one would have done anything, cause it’s okay to kill cracka’s.
Although the Officer’s and Department should bear some responsibility; I would like to hear both the 911 recording and the dispatch audio, and see the individual self-written citizen reports plus Officer Reports then decide.
Metro doesn't have the greatest reputation here, as of now there are some conflicting accounts.

If this was over-hyped by a Costco Employee resulting in a man's death, he needs to go to jail. If the police “acted stupidly”, then they need to go to jail as well...

I don’t care what the cops yell at me, if I am carrying and they have their guns pointed at me I will not reach for my gun.
Based on what little info we have this sounds like a case of really terrible LEO training. You never tell someone to "drop it" or "put the gun on the ground" unless it is already in their hand.
If the cops were non-white they were probably racists. Get Holder on the phone stat.

Isn’t this exactly the kind of thing Obama is worried about? Guy goes down to the corner store with his family and gets gunned down by cops who profiled him unjustly.
If it is as it appears, any effort on the part of the PD to cover this up should be met with criminal prosecution. I was almost shot by a nervous cop in a traffic stop in Arlington, TX because I did as he said and went into my glove box for proof of insurance. My complaint to his superiors was met with condemnation of me for not appreciating the job our police officers do. A week or two I later to see a news report that the same cop had shot a sleeping man in the front seat of his car. The victim as an illegal and they managed to get away with firing the cop. A year later he was on the news because in his capacity as a Dallas constable serving a summons, he shot a killed a guy who came to his front door ‘brandishing’ a butter knife. Cops do themselves no service by covering for the idiots among them.
And yes, it is a scenario that CC permit holders should fear.

I thought protocal for police was to disarm a “suspect” themselves so this kind of thing doesn’t happen?
