Firstly, the British (Engoish, Scots, Welsh) have been in Ireland since 1607. The English since the 12th C. So why should they ‘leave’?.

Secondly, you DO realise that the ‘native’ Irish are nothing of the sort?. The Gaels/Celts invaded Ireland themselves and annihilated the original inhabitants. So the Irish Republicans/Nationalists who scream for the British to leave are themselves merely the descendants of brutal invaders and subjugators...

Thirdly, we’ll leave Ireland when you give America back to the Indian. Fair enough?.

“They have been in Ireland for way too long :)”

I agree, the English should be worried about ENGLAND and the fact that they are LOSING THEIR COUNTRY TO THE MUSLIMS. When they wake up it will be too late.

If you are happy with your Muslims more power to you. To address the snarky comment you made about America above, I will say if there WERE NO AMERICA you members of the “United Kingdom” would all be speaking GERMAN right now.

I’ve read estimates of the percentage of Muzzies in the U.S. being anywhere between 0.5% and 2.5%, as of 2001 when the last surveys were done. You can probably guess that since nobody really knows, that it’s most likely to be between these two numbers, but it’s certainly not 3%. The Muzzies, however, would love for us to believe this ridiculously inflated number, in order to gain more political clout than their tiny numbers would otherwise dictate.

Thank you for your courteous response. We will obviously continue to disagree as to the root cause of the current problem.

Whatever. That claim is a little ridiculous.

That being said, I do agree that regardless of the way that English and Scots came to N. Ireland, they have still lived there for hundreds of years. The Irish have to find a way to get along or else they are never going to be successful. I do not know how to comment on Orange parades, but if they are contentious then thats not helping any.

I think a better comparison is South Africa. For example, hard to tell a Boer and their family that has only ever known South Africa as home that they dont belong there.

Its not a snarky comment, its a sarcy comment designed to show the stupidity of the ‘The British out of Ireland!’ argument. The English/British have been in Ireland for hundreds of years, just as the white man has been in the US for 400 years. Just as the Spanish and Portuguese and French and Dutch have been in South America, Asia and Africa for hundreds of years. To suggest ‘they should go home’ is a ridiculous argument. And thats what my America comment refers to.

As for your ww2 comment, you are better than that nonsense Jim.

If you are referring to Bloody Sunday, there is definite evidence that IRA gunmen were in the Bogside Flats, and that they fired the first shot. The evidence, and this is important, comes from residents in that area, inc the local priest. These people are NOT pro-British, they were Catholic and sympathetic to Irish Nationalism/Republicanism. Yet they clearly state the first shot came from behind, which can only mean the IRA, as the Paras were well in front of the Bogside (the Paras famously had to ‘go into’ the Bogside).

In 1997, on its 25th anniversary programme on that fateful day, the major British TV channel Channel 4 investigated the day fully. And found evidence to support the IRA first theory AND it found photographic evidence, long forgotten, taken by newspaper photographers just prior to the march, of IRA men armed and in and around the flats on the Bogside.

There is also voluminous evidence since, post ceasefire, from ex-IRA men themselves that the IRA were there and fired first.

Remember this Saville Report has just said Martin McGuinness, Head of the Derry IRA Brigade, carried a submachine gun around that day but didnt fire it. Not even when the Paras were killing 13 people. Does that sound credible?.

IMO the Saville Report has fitted the facts to a predetermined conclusion.

Again, I will not defend the overreaction of the Paras that day, but they did not go into Derry that day with the intent to kill civilians.

If you are referring to the Gaels/Celts, sorry but what I said is true. The Gaels are NOT the original, ‘native’ people of Ireland, they are just one of the groups that invaded Ireland in ancient times.

They invaded Ireland in the south and systematically annihilated the inhabitants then living there, the Beaker People. So the descendants of Irish Nationalists who bemoan ‘foreign’ people in the island are themselves just the modern day descendants of a brutal Celtic tribe that invaded, pillaged, annihilated and subjugated.

I seems that there is some history missing.
