Michele Bachmann outraises Sarah Palin

At FrumForum, Tim Mak notes that despite the fuss about the $865,000 Sarah Palin raised for her PAC last quarter, she was out-raised by both Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann, a simple congresswoman who is not actually running for the 2012 nomination. (As far as anyone knows.)
Minnesota's favorite baby-farmer Bachmann raised $1.7 million last quarter, despite the fact that, unlike Palin and Romney, she ostensibly has a job. Does this make Bachmann a dark-horse candidate for the GOP nomination? She shares much of Sarah Palin's political skill and ambition, plus the ability to speak extemporaneously.

I gave her some money and got called six times to give more.
That might have something to do with it.

Anyway, good for Bachmann. I don’t think anyone here will grudge her her success.

Is Sarah running for something? I’m on her mailing list and a Facebook friend and really don’t recall many aggressive fundraising pitches. But if she announces her candidacy for POTUS, I would propably dig deep to make my largest contribution EVER to a candidate.

To: pissant
Interesting thought, if the Democrats gerrymander Michele out of the House, she should run for POTUS.

Actually a gerrymander out of the House might be the best thing to happen to Bachmann. The House is a dead end for her and she will never get a leadership position. I’d like to see her take on 0bama in ‘12.

I’ve never received anything from Palin for fundraising....however I have had several from Bachmann...might be what makes the difference there. Bachmann actively pursuing monies across the nation where Palin’s are much more targeted.
And Palin does have a job and she is doing it...one which Bachman supports.

It's time for Sarah to get out of the way. We need a real conservative Michele Bachmann to run to take out Romney. I love the crack about Michele having a job unlike the other two.
Tell those 1%ers to get out of the way :)

The term "baby farmer" is actually a live link in the Salon article, so I followed it. Yes, you are right, the Salon writer was making a snarky comment about
Michele Bachman being a foster mother.
Lefties are just filled with poison. This is a quote from the link:
No wonder shes anti-abortion. Children are a cash crop for her.
To: pissant
Yawn!
Good for Bachmann that she can raise that kind of money. But why is it that she raised more money than Sarah PAC important this far out from 2012? Fact - Both will have enough funds to put together a fantastic Presidential run if they choose to go down that path.
And I would be more than happy either of them or even both of them do. I don't want to see any of the old horses brought out of the barn, including your favorite, Hunter.

I know you dont care gor Sarah....but first of all this article is silly since a PAC and general fundraisers are two different things and used for different purposes, one can not equate one with the other, second of all Palin helped Bachmann raise i believe 1 million of that money, third of all you didnt read this whole article because the writer takes a slap at Bachmann whom you praise as the best choice
To: agere_contra
Why does praising Bachmann have to include dissing Palin.

What an idiotic article.
Michelle Bachmann (who is running for congress), is not competing with Sarah Palin in fund raising. More than that, Sarah Palin raised a reported $500,000 for Michelle Bachmann at that fundraiser in Minnesota a few months back anyways.
To: pissant
Michele Bachmann outraises Sarah Palin These liberals are brilliant!
Perhaps the fact that Bachmann is running for office while Palin is not running for office comes into play.

They claim that the $30/day received from the State is enough to get rich off of.
I know several families that open their homes to foster children. Usually, it is for a period of weeks or months. Definitely not years. Sometimes as little as a couple of days. In any case, during this time, the foster families are buying extra food, clothing, toys, diapers, formula, etc... I’m sure most parents out there will tell you that you’re not going to have much left over of that $30 by the end of the day.
In fact, many of the families put the money received from foster/adoption care into trust funds for the child, relying on their own resources to cover the additional expense.
To claim that families who choose to foster/adopt for the sake of money is just sick.

No he wasn't. I was in Iowa at the time and his campaign there was nonexistent. Tom Tancrado had more of a presence. At the actual primary vote in the district I was in he was the only candidate that did not have anyone to stand up and say a few words about him. Someone planning to vote for another guy had to do it. This was in the middle of the second largest city in the state. No, he made no effort in Iowa at all, hence he did not really want it.
