Chuck Purgason's one-man filibuster show. Big gamble he's taking here. On the line is 150 million dollars of Missouri taxpayer dollars.

He's been going for more than 2 hours. Not sure how long he plans to keep it up...

He’s R. Fiscal (among other things) conservative. Running against Roy Blunt in the Republic Primary for US Senate.

Yes. We like him. :)

Way better than the consummate insider, Roy Blunt, but -- imho -- hasn't a prayer. ANYONE, dead or alive is a better choice than Robin bloody Carnahan.

Hell's bells, I'M a better choice than anyone named Carnahan, and I don't even want the damned job.

Riveting audio- Comparing their sweet corn crops. Only in the Missouri Senate I suppose. Well, maybe Nebraska Iowa and Kansas senate filibusters.

Concur. Purgason doesn’t have any name recognition statewide. Carny would mop the floor with him. Blunt has a strong chance to win this. Ok, he isn’t a pristine conservative, but he is so far superior to Robin Carny that its really apples and anteaters by comparison. No more Carny’s for Missouri. The dynasty ends in November 2010.

Ed Martin for MO-3 (Rusty’s seat)
Roy Blunt for US Senate - MO (Retiring Kit Bond’s seat)

I fail to comprehend your logic. By your own admission, Purgason is the better candidate. But you will vote for Blunt because Purgason doesn’t have name recognition? What does that gain you?

Scenario 1)
Primary: You vote for Blunt, Blunt wins
General: You vote for Blunt, Blunt wins

Scenario 2)
Primary: You vote for Purgason, Blunt wins
General: You vote for Blunt, Blunt wins

Scenario 3)
Primary: You vote for Purgason, Purgason wins
General: You vote for Purgason, Purgason wins

Scenario 4)
Primary: You vote for Purgason, Purgason wins
General: You vote vor Purgason, Carnahan wins

Now, I ask you, how likeley is Scenario 4 to happen? Sounds like you’d be okay with any of the first 3 scenarios. If Purgason can best Blunt in the Primary, what makes you think he couldn’t handle Carnahan just fine? PPP(D) has Purgason down 4% to Carnahan with only 11% name recognition. If he were to win the Primary, the whole world will know who Purgason is. He’d be the next Sharron Angle.

The Missouri Senate pro-tem Charlie Shields removed senator Purgason from the chairmanship of the Governmental Accountability and Fiscal Oversight Committee yesterday because of the inconvenience Purgason was apparently causing by blocking the “tax incentives” bill for Ford from going to the floor.

Obviously, Purgason is no go-along-to-get-along Republican like the ones we’re used to seeing in D.C.

Apologies for the double post. I was a bit anxious. I called Senator Purgason’s office and left a message of encouragement. This is exactly what we need in D.C.

He won’t win the primary. If it weren’t for FR nobody would know Chuck Purgason. I haven’t seen his name ANYWHERE else except FR and I live in St. Louis.

To get his name around he needs money to push his campaign. Have you donated??

And this is directed to everyone - have you sent in money? Blunt is a good ol’boy rino and is not going to change Washington.
