Analysis: Dems show signs of battle fatigue

WASHINGTON Four months before midterm elections, the Obama administration and congressional Democrats show signs of collective battle fatigue, ducking political fights they might once have welcomed and quarreling among themselves as they confront the likelihood of majority-threatening losses this fall.
Republicans pounce on every sign of Democratic discord, seemingly confident of a political payoff after a two-year campaign to kill whatever White Houses-backed legislation they could while slowing the rest.
This past weekend, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs strayed across the well-defined party line when he said "there are enough seats in play that could cause Republicans to gain control" of the House. There was no notification in advance to discomfited senior Democrats.
"What is this administration trying to hide?" Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., asked during a speech Tuesday in the Senate.
Answering his own question, he quoted Berwick: "The decision is not whether or not we will ration care. The decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open." The Harvard professor, he said, is Obama's "health care rationing czar."

Ohh...they are just doing the rope -a- dope...hopefully November ‘10 and November ‘12 will be a 1 - 2 punch.
Republicans pounce on WHAT!?:!
Republicans POUNCE = hailstorms in hell.
The AP carries water for the Dems: “Republicans pounce on every sign of Democratic discord, seemingly confident of a political payoff after a two-year campaign to kill whatever White Houses-backed legislation they could while slowing the rest.”
Well, it would have been ‘fair’ of the AP to identify redistribution of wealth, nationalization of industry, fake bailouts etc. as the targets of a ‘two-year campaign’ instead of implying as Obama and the Dems have done for some time, that the Repubs are intentionally killing any and all legislation ‘just because’ it will cause problems. This smear will cause significant long term damage as the Dems will ACTUALLY do that if/when the Repubs have the house or senate or POTUS. They will say “YOU DID IT FIRST”. Well, they would have lied and said it anyway but the old meme of ‘the party of no’ will have lasting damage, even though it was never true the way they mean it.
We must help the Dems get the word out that in the 2010 Midterm Elections, the Republicans vote November 2nd and the Democrats vote November 3rd.
(/sarc & LOL)
Not so with our great RINO senators from the northeast - Snowe, Collins and that newcomer Brown.
gop is no different to the democrats. GOP are self destructing, just at a slower pace, as its being replaced with new blood who will actually fight. The old guard need to LEAVE!
Huh? Republicans don't pounce; they "reach across the aisle."
If I were a Congressman or Senator, I'd be smacking Mikey Steele just to get face time in front of the cameras.
We elect and pay these jerks $200k a year to hide under their beds.
As much as I can't stand Palin's screeching, at least she's got the guts to reach out, explain, and promote Reagan Conservative principles. She and Bachmann are leaders.
GOP are self destructing, just at a slower pace, as its being replaced with new blood who will actually fight.
I think we’re about 3/4 of the way of not having to listen to them ever again.
It’s not battle fatigue, it’s fear of their chickens coming home to roost.
“... after a two-year campaign to kill whatever White Houses-backed legislation they could while slowing the rest.”
The slimy Left is always so happy to crow about the Right hanging together as a voting bloc. Yes, the Right has voted as a bloc, but the reason is that the Left has consistently voted as a single entity, nothing other than an echo chamber for Obozo.
Head fake from the AP. Don’t fall for it.
“Pounce” made me laugh out loud, too. Other than Bachman, Brewer and Palin, who else is “pouncing”?
