SALT LAKE CITY - A list containing the names and personal information of 1,300 purported illegal immigrants has been mailed around Utah, terrifying the state's Hispanic community. Gov. Gary Herbert wrote in a tweet Tuesday that he has asked state agencies to investigate the listsent anonymously to several media outlets and law enforcement agencies. A letter accompanying the list demands that those on it be deported immediately. Local advocates are decrying the list, saying whoever sent it is attempting to terrorize Utah's Hispanic community. Most of the names on the list are of Hispanic origin.

Only 1,300 ? It’s missing some zeros.
I bet the Utah governor, secretary of state, and attorney general got letters by the thousands before the last presidential election demanding that Obama’s natural born status be investigated. What did they do with that? NOTHING!
Republicans leaders have gonads the size of dust mites.
I had the same thought.
Why is it terrifying the state’s Hispanic community? If you’re legal you don’t have to worry.
But, one wonders if this isn’t a move by the left.
Yep, things be heatin’ up on a couple of fronts. Very good idea.
The left will liken this to Krystallnacht. Slight difference.
These people know they are in the country illegally.
Invading armies hate it when they get outed...
Keep Illegal aliens in the news for 3 more months, along with the lack of jobs for American citizens.
Not enough paper to list all the illegals in California.
Absolutely, keep drumming it is. Many people who were middle class until recently will be running out of unemploymnet insurance and will be competing with illegals for jobs in what is left of our nation’s industrial infrastructure and other blue-collar and service jobs. Soon your daughter’s recently laid off 3rd. grade teacher may be taking your order at the steakhouse you go to with the wife, or will be delivering your next pizza order.
Everyone is there, or knows someone there or soon to be there. Now is the time to make the point — more labor that is willing to work for less means less jobs for Americans.
That is a fact. They want our support but roll up like cheap carpets when push comes to shove. If they can't grow a set what good are they?
Hey, good idea! Needs to be done nationwide.
If the list is genuine, it would be interesting to know what the listees have in common, starting with employer.
The feds granted something like a million work visas last year with unemployment where it was (10%, the diluted figure)
These are some real rocket scientists in charge at the moment.
No, the attorney general will probably do everything to find and punish whoever did this.
One irony for Utah is that many of the young men who devote two years of their lives to teach about their church work in high school and just afterwards to pay for their missions. With all the illegals I would assume there are less jobs for these young men and many will have to forgo doing missions, and will instead join the military or will attain grants and start college instead. Maybe the elitists like the joker who tried to pressure the LDS leadership to take a stand against Arizona’s law should consider that.
Ain't that the truth!!
The Democrats have gonads but unfortunately they used them for the wrong purposes (Edwards, Gore, Clinton, Jackson...).
we could just take videos of all those gathered in the usual illegal alien hang-outs...emergency rooms, welfare offices, protest lines, cable tv offices, gold counter at KMart....
they are at least paranoid enough to take notice.
Don’t you just love how they like to lump Illegal Hispanics in with Legal Immigrant Future Americans?
True. Check this town hall meeting out — the non-whites are the ones who are angry about our open borders!
Don't forget ManBearPig and Gigolo Kerry. I think the term du jour is they don't have enough "second chakra"
They get a real thrill out of the Prop 8 customized Google hate maps but now they’re crying a river. Oh the huge manatee!
I watched the video and was very angry at Stark and his nasty, contemptuous treatment of his constituents (at least the people who bothered to show up at the “town hall” meeting and make their voices heard). He kept trying to portray the advocates of secure borders as raging nuts with guns who were willing to shoot at anything. Every argument directed at him about border security was reasonable.
Disgusting. I hope he loses his seat.
Just citizens reporting crimes. The police can’t be everywhere.
How can we get this list, and can we post it here on FR?
I saw this on Fox and Friends immediately upon turning on my TV at 5:30 am. They were tsk-tsking it like it was a lynching from the KKK. They interviewed a hispanic man who said it was “Just like Nazi Germany”.
The New York based media sees this as horrible and racist, just like the Arizona law itself. The rest of us do not see the problem. They’re ILLEGAL aliens, get it? We know what that means, and want it stopped, or at least we want to see the government attempt to stop it; certainly NOT condone it or encourage it!
I honestly think there would be less of this type of thing (sending out the list) if the government, from federal to local, would just be on our side and enforce the law. But no! We get Sanctuary Cities, Presidents and Senators who want to give amnesty, the US Government suing a State, and a media totally ignorant of the profound difference between legal and ILLEGAL immigration.
There are two Americas. New York City Journalist World and the rest of us. I’m ashamed of Steve and Brian this morning! It’s the only TV I still watch, and now that’s going off.
I wonder why.
Utah finds possible breach in immigrant list probe
A spokeswoman for Utah Gov. Gary Herbert said Thursday that investigators have found evidence suggesting a state database was breached to create a list of 1,300 purported illegal immigrants that has been circulating around the state.
Welling said the list appears to have been created from information kept by the Department of Workforce Services and technology department workers are focusing all of their efforts there. The department administers the state’s food stamp and children’s health insurance programs, along with other benefits.
oops, I missed the update at the top of the story: Inside job, 2 employees suspected
