Kathleen Parker: Sarah Palin, from pit bull to mama grizzly
The Washington Post ^ | Kathleen Parker

Posted on 07/13/2010 9:42:03 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sarah Palin, the ubiquitous enchantress of the disenchanted, may not have been ready to lead the free world back when John McCain anointed her as his running mate. But she's left rubber on the road that leads to fame, fortune and a new feminine mystique that drives certain men and women wild -- in very different ways.

For what it's worth, I get a kick out of Sarah. May I call her Sarah?

She and I apparently share a certain genetic predisposition to annoy all the right people. These would be the folks who take themselves and their ideologies a tad too seriously. Thus when I was promoting my book, "Save the Males," I wore an aggressively feminine suit -- pink with a bow in back -- just to irritate hard-line feminists, who, without bothering to read the book, would hate it on sight.

I happen to hate bows, but it was worth it.

Likewise, Sarah knows just what drives us all nuts and, instead of changing her tune, she turns up the volume -- and triples down. Don't like her little red shoes? She'll add a red leather jacket. Got gloss?

This woman is not to be feared or loathed. She is to be taken with a grain of humor and a dash of admiration. A different version of Madonna, she's a public relations machine who manipulates public perception with well-timed and, recently, sophisticated messaging.

In the nearly two years since she became the first female Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah has morphed from a pit bull with lipstick to a mama grizzly. Grrrrrrrr.

Kathleen Parker? Isn’t she the one that uses the picture from 20 years ago next to her column?

I think she needs to knock off the Diazepam a few hours before she writes. This column meandered more than a Kennedy on St Patricks Day.

Sarah has positioned herself as the spokesperson for The Good Woman (i.e., conservatives) and thus has inoculated herself and her message from criticism

Funny...I don't see that inoculation coming thru my TV screen...

Kathleen is so desperate for male attention that she has to do a show with Elliot Spitzer. How pathetic is that?

Ahh, I like morning Palin threads. No annoying Pissant comments.
This woman is a dynamo, and they will never admit they’re scared sh**less over her.

Little backstabber K. Parker, the future Ms. Mitt Romney.

Kathleen Parker: "[I]t is increasingly clear that Palin is a problem." "Parker ... says something publicly that many of us have thought privately
but lacked the courage to say out loud - Palin should step down:"

"Kathleen Parker: After Interviews, Palin Should Bow Out"

Kathleen Parker: "Romney would bring more than squeaky clean qualifications
and youthful good looks to the ticket.
Romney would seem a logical choice."

"Parker: Romney raised bar on freedoms"
Kathleen Parker: "If Kennedy's speech was an important landmark in American political history,
Romney's was surpassing. With heartfelt humility and poetic eloquence,
he tracked the nation's struggle with and for freedom."

Staggering bigotry of Kathleen Parker - UPDATED"

“The genius of Sarah’s message, whatever it is, is that it doesn’t matter what it is.”
So, her message is irrelevant, then? Sorry,I didn’t get the pro Palin angle in this piece.

Romney is a symbol of the Establishment Oligarchy.

No. Mitt Romney is a symbol of the anti-Reagan RINOs,
and unnatural borne citizens from Mexico who think they can be President,
and is a symbol of RomneyCARE, gay marriage, truthers, and fascism replacing freedom.

"One of the traditional methods of imposing statism
or socialism on people has been by way of medicine..."

President Ronald Reagan

Death Panels imposed by Mitt Romney (ObamaCARE=RomneyCARE).

Palin is as tough, experienced, committed and capable (and more so) than many past or current politicos.

I am CONVINCED that her credentials are sufficient and I AM SICK TO DEATH of the media campaign against the superficial and irrelevant aspects of her and her claim to our attention.

The MSM needs to begin assessing Governor Palin in the sober and professional manner which she CERTAINLY deserves and which they NEVER hesitate to apply in their assessment of lesser and obviously flawed ‘candidates’.

The MSM has this pathological, crying need to trump-up all sorts of BS about Gov. Palin as an individual and a politician. THIS is NOT professional or constructive…never mind that it is unethical!

When they are finished covering themselves with s%$#, how can anyone take them seriously? Journalists who obsess over Gov. Palin’s personal life/attributes, or who can’t be objective and ethical in their assessment of Palin as a political figure or potential candidate WILL BE TUNED-OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey MSM…. Get serious or STFU!!! I am heartily sick of it already and the f&^%$#g campaign did not even begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

G R O W U P !!!!!!

Kathleen Parker????

I see the advertisement for News Max on tv, they mention Kathleen Parker as one of the contributors. I would only use Newsmax in the outhouse at the cottage if KP is part of it.

She is a freakin Democrat that voted for Obama, I say she should come to the same end as Obama.
