Cab driver Abraham Habteab says around 2 p.m., he picked up a well-dressed passenger at Union Station who wanted to ride to a hotel in Southwest D.C.
"He wanted me to drop him off and put his luggage inside the hotel and he wanted me to take him to a different location," said Habteab.
He did not realize his passenger was Congressman Jerrold Nadler of New York until other cab drivers told him. It was just a typical cab ride according to Habteab.

You'd think the loud creaking of the cab's springs when Jabba-The-Commie stepped in would of been the first clue.
Ask the cab driver if he detected a “whiff of fascism” in the car.
More likely there was a whiff of methane exuded from the corpulent Waddler as a testimony to its latest food fest.
And why exactly has this Congress Turd not been ARRESTED YET??? The Cabbie needs to file CRIMINAL CHARGES and NOT ACCEPT ANY SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT.
Standard Operating Procedure for members of Congress like Jerry... he believes the U.S. Treasury sets the money printing machine on “11” and said cab driver magically get his fare... same happens with all those unfunded mandates D.C. spits out day in / day out.
I once sat directly across from him in facing seats on an Amtrak train. I had a very hard time not saying something to him but he was sleeping most of the ride and I didn’t really need to get in a row with him. I could tell from the way he reached overhead for his bag with a rude disdain for those he was reaching over that he was an arrogant POS.
He's apparently much smaller now.
I went to high school with Nadler. Hard to believe he was only 150 lbs. back then.
It sounds like the dispute was over “the drop”, the amount charged when you first get into a cab, before there’s been any waiting time or mileage. Nadler wanted the cabbie to treat the trip from Union Station to the Hotel to Capital Hill as one trip, and only charge him for the drop once. The cabbie wanted to restart the meter at the hotel and collect twice for the drop (less any waiting time at the hotel). Tempest in a teapot.
It isn’t clear that Nadler didn’t pay him off for the trip to hotel (he should have, of course). Is the drive complaining because Nadler declined to pay him for the second drop for the trip to Capital Hill which he declined to take with the original driver?
That was my first thought, too. And the scraping of the muffler on the pavement.

Nadler later confessed at a news conference that he had lost his wallet earlier because he had actually placed it in between two rolls of his fat instead of what he thought was a pocket. It was later found and returned to him from the manager of the Dunkin' Donuts where he had used the wallet just prior to the cab ride.
"And a wafer theeen mint for Monsieur!"
