W.House Disappointed By Rhetoric Of Some In Business
Reuters ^ | July 14, 2010

Posted on 07/14/2010 12:41:40 PM PDT by reaganaut1

The White House said on Wednesday it was "surprised and disappointed" by attacks on its policies from some corners of the business world, as it pushed back hard against criticism from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

"The stakes are far too high for us to be working against one another," White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and Valerie Jarrett, President Barack Obama's top adviser, said in a letter to the chamber, a top lobby group for U.S. businesses.

"That is why we were surprised and disappointed at the rhetoric we have heard from some in the business community -- rhetoric that fails to acknowledge the important steps this administration has taken," they said in the letter, a copy of which was obtained by Reuters.

The chamber, which is hosting a jobs summit on Wednesday, has accused Obama and his Democrats in Congress of neglecting job creation and hampering growth with burdensome regulatory and tax policies.

Recalling the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, the White House said it would not "stand by" while the energy industry fought tighter regulations to improve environmental safety, and stressed its duties went far wider than the business lobby.

The easiest way to really tick him off is to disagree with him. He can’t stand it. What he wants is for everybody to fall in line with his beliefs. Then when things go wrong, which they surely will, he can blame industry.

Rahm and Valerie are sociopaths rapidly running out of easy rubes and big lies. At this point they become the most dangerous.

Gridlock until January is the optimal scenario, though unlikely as the twin twits of Maine and the crypto-socialist of Massholes continue to willingly get diddled in the Senate cloakrooms.

I'd love to be able to ask Rahm “deadfish” Emanuel is it the responsibility of the federal government to put the country on its proverbial knees with the failed economic policies the Obama administration espouses? Every thing that business has done has been in reaction to these measures, be it Obamacare, Cap n Tax, or the taking over of various sectors of the economy. The whole purpose of capitalism is the maximization of profits for the shareholders of a company. Its no small wonder how that would be at odds with the redistributionist beliefs of this administration's cronies.

Eggsactly!
Why should we, the business community, agree to get in the box car voluntarily?
These guys think they can run my business better than I have for the past 30 years? Bite me!

“A social scientist who understands human nature will not dismiss the vital roles of free choice, voluntary cooperation and moral integrity – as liberals do.
“A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, drive, personal appeal and work ethic, and then try to impose economic and social equality on the population – as liberals do.
And a legislator who understands human nature will not create an environment of rules which over-regulates and over-taxes the nation’s citizens, corrupts their character and reduces them to wards of the state – as liberals do.”

There are things that work and actions that create a hostile environment. “Progressives” have choosen wrong.”

Working together? Have you noticed this regime will say anything, they have no shame.

Didnt they just spend two years attacking businesses and threatening them with higher taxes? Didn't they say businesses got a free ride from that last guy (I won't say his name) and now they will have to pay in more taxes and regulations?

This just get’s better.

The lack of leadership these people display is breathtaking.

They’re never wrong. Everyone else is to blame. They call people names. They disregard their criticism as “rhetoric”. Their endless lies are insulting, not because they’re lying but because they think we believe them.

It’s despicable!

What business or organization could you survive in acting like this?

A dictatorship, possibly.

If anything, our side is filled with cowards who can't bear the heat. A tea party in Iowa, couldn't stand the heat of criticism, and pulled the following sign.

"Some tea party members criticized the sign, and North Iowa Tea Party co-founder Bob Johnson acknowledged the pictures overwhelmed the intended message of anti-socialism."

By the time Obama and crew get through passing all kinds of revenge legislation during the lame duck session in Congress, it will too late to post this quite rational billboard.

RE :”Only if you have a job...”

There is long term and there is short term.

Bush's years, especially the last two with the democrat congress created the perception that capitalism failed and that the only way ahead was a government run economy. This is because he talked capitalism and made capitalistic gestures while promoting socialism policies. That is what got us Obama and Pelosi. A McCain presidency (with the democrat congress yet) would have made this perception even worse with very similar economic results.

Obama and Pelosi with their overwhelming majority are showcasing their own economic policies. Now everyone can see what democrat policies result in :debt and unemployment and eventually inflation. Everyone can hear their lame excuses and even the MSM is making fun of them. They are not listened to anymore except by us (to make fun of) and a few clueless liberals. Obama accomplished in only 12 months what it took Bush over 4 years to: become a joke with no credibility to the general public.

Sorry the options were not better.

LOL!

While kicking the sh!t out of his latest victim, Obama said he was “surprised and disappointed” that the victim kept saying: “Ouch, ouch, ouch” as the fellow lay on the ground hunched up in a ball.

“The stakes are far too high for us to have to be listening to this kind of screaming and yelling”, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and Valerie Jarrett, President Barack Obama’s top adviser, said.

“That is why we were surprised and disappointed at the sreaming and yelling. It distracts us to the point that some of our kicks miss.”

Don't go weak knee-ed on me. They still need 60 votes in the Senate even after the election to pass a bill. But they can increase/add spending and raise taxes with only 51 using budget reconciliation like with health reform, assuming they have the votes in the house for the same measures.

Our nightmare is where the masks come off the GOP Statists after the elections, so there would be just the 60 votes.

Our side needs to be prepared to make lots of noise just in case. Not sure what would work, but it deserves outside the box thought.
