The latest Washington Post/ABC News poll shows President Obama's standing among white voters continuing to slip, a potentially ominous sign for his party with the midterm elections fast approaching.
Just 40 percent of whites in the Post/ABC survey approve of the job Obama is doing, his lowest rating among this key demographic since the start of his presidency and well below the 50 percent approval number that he carries nationwide. Forty-three percent of white voters strongly disapprove of the job Obama is doing, while just 19 percent strongly approve.
Among the other lowlights with whites in this poll for Obama: 54 percent of college-educated whites now disapprove of the job he is doing, and, among white college-educated women, Obama's approval numbers has dipped below 50 percent for the first time in his presidency in Post/ABC polling.
Much of Obama's struggles with white voters seems directly attributable to the public's deep pessimism about the economy. (Ninety-four percent of whites polled rated the economy either not so good or poor.) Just over one in three whites (37 percent) approve of Obama's handling of the economy -- his worst rating among that demographic group ever. Forty-eight percent of white voters strongly disapprove of Obama's stewardship of the economy, while 13 percent strongly approve.

He’s unlikely to lose the black vote unless he suddenly becomes white. The numbers clearly indicate racial bias on the part of blacks to elect a president solely on the basis of race. I can’t image 95% of all blacks are Democrats.

I have said this before. The Black Panthers and their language are going to be tied to Obama and the Democrat Party. The ‘Rats will soon become the party of minorities, where white people will not be made to feel welcome, sort of like Detroit. More and more whites will quietly leave the party until it becomes margialized and a shadow of it’s former self.

Blacks, alone, could not have elected this man. In fact, no combination of minoritites could have elected him. Well, having an overtly racist Attorney General does not help. People are tired of being termed racists because they oppose illegal immigration. And the decision not to prosecute the Panthers for voter intimidation was huge. The anti-white discrimination measures in the new Finance Bill will cause more angst as they become better known.
Very soon his only constituency will be the 60’s radicals and the welfare class. He must be defeated.
The radicals are dying off and the welfare class at this point is his only solid base. A base that will be threatened with the new cuts.

Then the Great (Giveaway) Society started and BAM...they went for the free lunch. How’s that working for them? Have you ever seen a picture of his Father? He’s pure Black African. No visible trace of Arab Blood. I don’t know why people keep bringing this Arab crap up. Does it make him worse if he did have some “Arab Blood”/

That was not a term used for Blacks for another eight years. That term wasn’t common for another decade. Also, in Africa the term Black is used as a put down. Negro is preferred in Africa.
He has treated his Muslim heritage as a dark secret. His grandfather was named ‘Hussein.’ That is an Arabic-Muslim, not African, name.

I sometimes can’t tell what race someone was by a picture. If they were 100% or 50%. I guess you can.
His father could identify himself as an Afro-Arab. Do a search on this term and Obama. You will see that Obama has strong Arab ancestry. Thus the name.

I'm betting that lots of whites are scared or wary of giving an honest answer when a media pollster calls and asks them what do they think of a black politician, especially our de facto president. That would help explain these numbers.

I think a basic civics test and economics test should be administered. If you don’t understand how the government or economies are supposed to work then you are contributing to the problem.
We expect people to pass tests to drive. Nothing has more impact on us than voting. There is nothing racist about testing if everyone takes the same test (with rotating questions of course).
