WASHINGTON—The Senate approved a wide-ranging overhaul of the nation's financial regulations Thursday, handing President Barack Obama his second major domestic-policy victory of the year.

The legislation passed, 60-39, largely along party lines. Republicans Sens. Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, both of Maine, joined Democrats in supporting the bill. Sen. Russ Feingold (D., Wisc.) was the only Democrat to vote against the measure.

I believe Russ is facing his own re-election difficulties and therefore had to make his pretend vote. Naturally if one of the super RINOS had done the right thing, Feingold would have voted FOR the bill. So these three thugs succeeded in screwing the US AND giving Feingold an out!!!

His voting history in Mass. made it likely.

Another bill that no dem has read, but voted on anyway. We know nothing about what’s in it. One thing is sure - it will illegally give government more control over businesses.
Just their way of moving closer to the great communist goal of all businesses being in the hands of the government.

Yep. He was untrustworthy from the start, but many folks were too busy being impressed by his awe shucks old truck stories and we still got Crapcare shoveled down our throats regardless of the Playgirl's presence. Wonder if 'a change of party' will be somewhere in his future.

Anyone paying attention to the campaign and his history should not have been deceived.

I posted on a number of threads at the time that Brown was by no stretch a conservative.

But I sent a contribution and recommended supporting him in the special election because he was by far the better choice.

In Taxsachusetts you can’t expect to get a true conservative elected in a state wide election.

I hope the voters in Maine remember it was RINO Snowe who was the only Republican who voted yes and by that vote allowed the Obamacare bill to be voted out of committee and eventually to get passed. She could have stopped it in its tracks with her vote.

Bad enough 0bamacare will control our lives and health, this monstrosity from the crooks Dodd and Frank will control our wallets. This government has gone way too far and needs to be pulled back and the House (and Senate) needs to be cleaned out in November.

THIS IS FASCISM.

He said the “F” word!!!!

But these days they call it social Democracy or European social Democracy

But the Europeans have figured out it doesn’t work.

Unfortunately a really bad idea dies hard especially when a lot of powerful people have built their careers and power base on that idea.

We all knew Brown was a RINO. I believe Rubio is a true conservative and he needs our support in the razor thin race in FL. Rubio does NOT support amnesty in any way!.

This quote is from Rubio's issues page on his website:

“Legal immigration has been a great source of strength and prosperity for America, but I believe illegal immigration threatens the foundation of this system. If I had been in the Senate at the time, I would have opposed the McCain-Kennedy bill. I believe we must fix our immigration system by first securing the border, fixing the visa and entry process and opposing amnesty in any reform."

In Rubio's AZ statement he explicitly said he does NOT support amnesty.

I hope Congress and the Obama Administration will use the Arizona legislation not as an excuse to try and jam through amnesty legislation, but to finally act on border states’ requests for help with security and fix the things about our immigration system that can be fixed right now – securing the border, reforming the visa and entry process, and cracking down on employers who exploit illegal immigrants.

For more info see this interview: Rubio blasts federal failures as cause of AZ action on immigration where Rubio strongly states he is against amnesty.

“Now here’s my fear: my fear is that the Obama administration is going to use this as an excuse to go forward with some sort of an amnesty bill. I’ve never supported amnesty. I think amnesty would be terrible for America’s future. Quite frankly, I think amnesty is terrible for legal immigration. If you were to grant amnesty, you will never be able to have a legal immigration system that works in America.

Rubio 2010!!!

I'll vote for him, no doubt. But just the fact that you had to defend him so proves that point that what he, and Jeb Bush, initially said about the AZ law was bone-headed and hurtful to him.

I believe that is what some, hopefully not many, will remember more than his clarifications after the fact.
