Scott Brown Slams Kathy Griffin for Calling Daughters 'Prostitutes'
July 16, 2010 Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown slammed comedian Kathy Griffin for making a crude joke about his two daughters.
Griffin, star of “My Life on the D List” made the comments on the Bravo network Tuesday night. The segment features Griffin being shown a photograph of Brown by two CNN reporters, John King and Dana Bash. Griffin identifies Brown in the picture, saying, “Scott Brown, who is a senator from Massachusetts and has two daughters that are prostitutes.” Bash erupts in laughter at Griffin’s comment.
But Brown wasn’t laughing, blasting Griffin and Bravo for the segment.
“People can call me any name they want, but families are off limits," he said in the statement made through spokeswoman Gail Gitcho. "I love my daughters Ayla and Arianna very much, and any parent would be proud to have them as children. Kathy Griffin and Bravo ought to be ashamed of themselves.”
At the end of the clip, Griffin runs a disclaimer “from Bravo’s legal team,” saying the girls are not, in fact, “prostitutes.”
Ayla Brown is a former NCAA basketball player and recording artist. She is now a contributor for CBS’ “The Early Show.” Arianna Brown is currently a pre-med student at Syracuse University.
Griffin also insults former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in the segment, saying “Remember when the Republican’s tried to get that nutbag Sarah Palin to sound credible before the vice presidential debates? They had a board and ran flash cards to teach her the tough stuff, like there is both a North and South Korea. Well, that’s sort of like what John and Dana did for me.”

I don’t why Ms. Griffin is so angry, but she is.
I saw one of her shows that documented her father’s death, and I believe they buried him in Ireland. She exhibited some degree of humanity in that show.
But her comments, for the most part, are nothing but cheap shots designed to generate cheap laughs - usually at someone’s expense.
I cannot believe that she was was raised as a Catholic.
Her whole life is an abomination.
I pity her. I really do. And I will pray for her.

Her parents were mean drunks, so she perhaps developed her comed to protect herself.I don’t like her, but she does mock and deride the entertainment industry is a way that hasn’t been done before.

Mass. voters are likely to vote in a genuine Democrat liberal if the GOP gives up on Brown. He is a RINO, but does vote with the party more than his likely replacement does. The GOP should work to get out way left Dem. senators such a Reid-NV, Feingold-WI, etc. this November and maybe a lost vote on the Frank-Dodd bad & ugly finance bill can be fixed another way.
I've had the (unpleasant) occasion to surf through her show a couple of times. It's sort of like watching a train wreck, I just couldn't look away.
Anyhoo, what I saw had her in Europe. She defines - no, re-writes the entire book upon - the term "Ugly American". She made me want to go over to where ever she was and apologize to everyone.

Calling his daughters prostitutes is wrong. Calling Scott a prostitute for selling out those of us who supported him and wrote him checks, however, seems completely appropriate.

Well, I did have problems during my first year of algebra.
Brown WAS the best we could hope for at the time. I was celebrating just as loud as anyone else when he won. I wasn’t shouting that he should be our next president as some did, but I was extremely happy.
However, with each passing vote—with the democrats— he seems more like a democrat to me, so I no longer trust him.
I too drive a pickup and I no longer see him as on our side.
Now, you can go on with your rant at me, but you might want to know that such B/S fails to impress me.

Kathy as usual missed the target, it is Scott that is the prostitute.
That’s right! There’s only one prostitute in that household and it’s not his daughters.
