Chelsea Clinton’s wedding—now dubbed “the wedding of the century”—is such an exclusive event that HUMAN EVENTS had not been able to find anyone who is actually attending the July 31 wedding. So many of Bill and Hillary Clinton’s friends and supporters are not invited to the wedding that feelings are getting hurt and egos bruised.

I’m a Rush listener, but if you listened carefully, James Carville was in attendance, sent my red flags up..

Not so surprising. Carville's wife is Mary Matlin, a conservative, who was among the group which accompanied Rush on his trip to Afghanistan several years ago.

Who would want to go to a wedding where the bride’s mother’s campaign fund was on the gift registry?

Maybe Oprah is off the list because she hit on Huma (the new Mrs Weiner).

She’s no Scarlett Johannsen, but she does look a lot better than she did, I suppose—better than you’d think judging by the looks of all 3 of her parents (2 actual, 1 alleged-take your pick as to who’s who.......)

Your title is very misleading, or was that the point you wanted.

There’s a big difference between NOT BEING INVITED

AND

NOT ATTENDING.

From the article: “Chelsea Clinton reportedly said she only wanted guests at her wedding who she know personally,so maybe the bride is to blame for the hurt feelings of her parents’ friends. Whatever the reason, Chelsea’s “wedding of the century” has caused a lot of bruised egos and hurt feelings among the powerful and elite.”

I agree with Chelsea. It is her and her fiance’s wedding, not their parents’. I have never understood the practice of parents inviting their own friends and business associates to their children’s weddings. The up side of not being invited means that the friends and business associates don’t have to spring for a wedding gift for someone they don’t even know.

George W and Lura Bush vacation together with Bill and Hillary Clinton. This came out on the Hannity show while Bush was still President.
My suspicion is that a lot of so called ‘conflict’ is just a political soap opera put on for our entertainment, and not for real political change,

Rush was at James' wedding, if you saw the footage of the little march from the church to the reception, you would have seen Rush at the head of the line with Mary next to him. No big deal, nothing to have red flags over.

.I must say that after enduring so many attacks regarding her appearance as a child, Chelsea Clinton has grown into a beautiful young woman.

I agree. Though many here still insist she is devil spawn and hard to look at, I think she growed up real good.

Groom is a Goldman Sachs executive and the son of a democrat political felon so egregious as to have been jailed. I’m sure the groom’s fathers tux will cover his ankle bracelet.

Sigh- young love

Mazel Tov to Chelsea Marc Hillary and Bill! And many happy passover seiders together

Let’s hope the bridemaids don’t wear blue dresses

And the Astor staff inventories the silverware

And the bartenders keep their tip jars away from Uncles Roger Hugh and Tony

When did weddings become political events? When did the politics of the guests matter? Let the bride and groom have their day. People can be so shallow at times.

His wife, Mary Matlin, is a Republican Strategist.

How would you invite a friend but exclude their spouse?
