Guv: At least 2 state workers behind ‘The List’
THE SALT LAKE TRIBUNE ^ | July 17, 2010 | Robert Gehrke

Posted on 07/17/2010 11:03:14 AM PDT by Ronbo1948

Two employees with the Department of Workforce Services have been put on leave after an investigation revealed that they apparently accessed records on hundreds of Utah residents to compile a list of 1,300 names of people purportedly in the country illegally.

A handful of other DWS workers also may have been part of the effort and are the subject of an ongoing probe. “This tactic by these rogue employees to go out and single out individuals and their families and, in some cases, falsely accusing people of an illegal status is in fact deplorable and is in fact counterproductive to the issue that ought to be the focus, which is the illegal immigration issue,” Gov. Gary Herbert said at a press conference.

If the federal and state governments will do nothing about illegal aliens living and working in the community then we can expect more unauthorized actions like these on the part of patriotic Americans fed up with foreigners taking advantage of government services.

Proving a false fact is easy. What are you doing with the illegals on the list?

Another story from Alice in Wonderland, what's up is down and what's down is up. Makes me crazy. They waste resources on illegals and think it's ok

Put on leave? Heck give them a raise and a promotion!

The government has way too many records, and way too little restraint on employees accessing those records.

Just another reason why the government shouldn’t be allowed anywhere NEAR people’s private medical records.

Every day there are stories of government employees illegally accessing or stupidly losing our private records.

I’m with you on that Alice. I thought it was illegal NOT to report a crime.

Wonderful job done by the Dems, they have converted Illegals into a protected class.
Don't even think about releasing, self evidently public information, you will go to jail.
The reason Obama and Illegals are protected is because if the truth were known it would collapse that mighty bubble of noxious gas known as the ‘Democrats’.

” is in fact deplorable and is in fact counterproductive “

No, what is deplorable is the State’s and Federal “effort” in enforcing the laws. What is counterproductive is the States allowing sanctuary citizens. More citizens need to take responsibility instead of sitting around waiting for the gubment to do its job. We lend them our power. It is high time we take it back.

"Two employees with the Department of Workforce Services have been put on leave after an investigation revealed that they apparently accessed records on hundreds of Utah residents to compile a list of 1,300 names of people purportedly in the country illegally."

But the Washington Post is boasting about revealing the names of companies doing top secret work for America, where the work is being done and the nature of that work. I don't hear any outrage from the alien Obama administration or from the Alien president about this treason. But expose illegals in the country, why that's positively criminal!

Why has Utah keep this information secret? How long has this database been maintained?

....then, Mr. Governor, why have you not turned in those that you know have NOT been "falsely accused"?

The Gov is clearly, out of touch. Loser, GTH. Utah, what's wrong with you?

Gov, I'll bet your list of state tax scofflaws is 100% OK.

a list of 1,300 names of people purportedly in the country illegally.

You could find that many illegals in the checkout lines at the West Valley Wal-Mart, any given time on a Saturday or Sunday. 130,000 wouldn't even be a good start for the whole state. 1.3 million might be closer to the actual number of illegals in Utah.

Why are these state workers in trouble?? So they don’t have documentatin as investigators? So.

Are we going to start punishing people for simply being undocumented?

Seriously, they should start referring to themselves as “undocumented ICE agents”. Hmmm.... Sounds like a good T-shirt.

Gary Herbert and Rick Perry need to form the “open borders RINO” Governor’s Association.

Arnold and Charlie Christ will join right up. And they can even allow Bill Richardson an “associate membership”.

The whistleblowers were heroes, exposing mass identity theft and welfare fraud as well as illegal immigration. This governor needs to be prosecuted for retaliating against them!

Just how is demonstrating the existence of illegals - and demonstrating that the state is affirmatively choosing not to follow federal immigration law - counterproductive to the illegal immigration issue?

I think they mean that this knowledge becoming public is counterproductive to them continuing their unlawful behavior.

Damn straight bitches.

Don't sanctuary cities preempt federal law????

Can't a citizen sue to stop them then?

Utah is also a RINOS nest - remember Chris Cannon? When you see this stuff going on, you know that there are lots of people in Utah making lots of money off illegal alien labor and these people are calling the shots in Utah politics.

As for these state employees releasing information - remember how some Democrat bureaucrat violated the personal government records of Joe the plummer? Joe was not committing a crime, he was simply using his rights as an American citizen to speak his mind. But his rights were violated by a government employee for vindictive political reasons. But when people on the inside of government act as whistle-blowers to protect the tax payers rights, then they must be punished. I don’t think the Democrat apparachik was punished for violating the rights of Joe the plummer.

I hope that these loyal Americans do not run off with their tails between their legs. I hope they hold their heads high and go on the offensive. These employees are not the ones who have skeletons in their closets, it is the hypocritical politicians. They should appear before the press, defiantly, name names and threaten to sue as they were simply whistle-blowers who were protecting the law and the tax payers. Isn’t there a law that is supposed to protect whistle-blowers?

If there is one thing that cockroaches and crooked politicians cannot stand, it is sunlight!
