Tea Party Federation kicks out Williams over blog post
CNN.com ^ | July 18, 2010 | CNN Wire

Posted on 07/18/2010 11:54:21 AM PDT by Hawk720

CNN) -- The National Tea Party Federation, an organization that represents the Tea Party political movement around the country, has expelled conservative commentator Mark Williams and his Tea Party Express because of an inflammatory blog post he wrote, federation spokesman David Webb said Sunday.

Appearing on the CBS program "Face the Nation," Webb said that Williams and the Tea Party Express -- which has held a series of events across the country to generate support for the movement -- no longer were part of the National Tea Party Federation.

"We, in the last 24 hours, have expelled Tea Party Express and Mark Williams from the National Tea Party Federation because of the letter that he wrote," Webb said of the blog post by Williams that satirized a fictional letter from what he called "Colored People" to President Abraham Lincoln.

Webb called the blog post "clearly offensive."

What right do they have to expel anyone from a non paying, non membership required, loosely knit group of patriots?

Bad, bad, idea.

The race hustlers got a score. Now they know they can do these wimps.

The intimidation has just begun. Next up, Sharpton and company.

Tea Party white guy losers soon to go down.

Never, ever, ever give in.

There’s no need for what Mark Williams did, IMHO- it only adds to the perception that the Libs already have of Tea Party members as group.

Let the leftists by their words and deeds expose themselves for the true racialists that they are.

"Dear Mr. Lincoln," began the fictional letter posted by Williams. "We Coloreds have taken a vote and decided that we don't cotton to that whole emancipation thing. Freedom means having to work for real, think for ourselves, and take consequences along with the rewards. That is just far too much to ask of us Colored People and we demand that it stop!"

This idiot just handed the NAACP a huge PR victory.

Way to go dumbass.

With that article, satire or not, he fell right into the NAACP and left’s trap.
All Tea Party leaders should just keep it simple and say there is no racism in the Tea Party and will continue to keep it that way. Saying this would not be pandering, just stating the facts.

I went on Al-Jazeera TV (U.S.) about two years ago to “defend” Bush in a debate. I immediately went on the attack and said that Dodd and Franks should be in jail, that these guys caused the whole financial collapse. We spent the entire time with THEM on defense.

Ignore the Leftwingtards. Their perception of the TEA Party movement is that you people are just more meat to be savaged. They'll not be satisfied until they have you on the ground, standing on your throat, and cutting out your guts.

You not only must never apologize to a Leftwingtard, the second they think you aren't as dangerous as they imagine you to be, they'll start killing babies in your name.

True, but the Nat. Tea Party Federation did exactly the right thing by expelling him immediately to demonstrate that the national group does not approve of that kind of behavior. Now it’s time...for the NAACP to return the favor and to expel the racist members of its ranks... (slim chance, I know)

Only if you let them.

The things they say are so despicable and unforgiveable that most people can't even respond. Yet no one throws them off the bus in the Commie movement. They just smile and walk away.

The right response would have been none at all. Two more days and the news cycle would obliterate it.

Nope. They just caved.

There will be no "credit" for the purge. Only a demand for more and more.

If you think the NAACP had a serious moral objection, you're smoking bad weed. They were assigned this little gig by their enablers in the Criminal Party. It's a coordinated attack, using a time tested bomb.

Only fools let it go off and destroy them.

Well played! Is the interview on YouTube someplace? I’d love to see it.

One factor that I have heard discussed a little bit, but would like to hear more of, is the Disruptor Factor in any Tea Party gathering. It’s easy to assume that the leftist racists believe anything really objectionable must necessarily come from the right; I can’t dismiss the possibility that they are leftist plants.

The political reality is, when it comes to race, Republicans and Democrats are held to a different standard. Pretending otherwise will continue to cause setbacks to conservative causes.

I heard the interview on the local CBS station this morning. Benjamin Jealous kept alive the myth that Dick Armey is the “grandfather” of the Tea Party movement. He must have conveniently forgotten about Rick Santelli.

This is sad and funny at the same time. It brings to mind the scene in Monty Python's Life of Brian that lampoons divisions among the Trotskyite left.

REG:
Listen. If you really wanted to join the P.F.J. N.T.P.F, you'd have to really hate the Romans. tax-and-spend Obama liberals

BRIAN:
I do!

REG:
Oh, yeah? How much?

BRIAN:
A lot!

REG:
Right. You're in. Listen. The only people we hate more than the Romans Obama are the f***ing Judean People's Front. Tea Party Express.

P.J.F. N.T.P.F:
Yeah...

JUDITH:
Splitters.

P.J.F. N.T.P.F:
Splitters...

FRANCIS:
And the Judean Popular People's Front. [substitute the next Tea Party group to be disowned]

C'mon folks, let's keep this together until we're rid of Obama, or have veto-proof majorities in both houses of Congress.

The word “racism” is white man’s Kryptonite. No group, however just their cause, can stand against it. The utterance of the word “racism” will turn even the strongest opponent into a cringing lackey.

Even here on FR. Look at the posting guidelines. Every post on FR has to pass NAACP muster. Just ask certain uncomfortable questions or post certain uncomfortable facts and watch the fun as your fellow Freepers pile on and the Banhammer comes down. It doesn’t matter if you’re a racist or not. FR can survive without me or you, but it can’t survive being called “racist” on TV.

Racism used to be defined as “bigotry or hatred based upon race”. In 2010, racism is “anything a given non-white person doesn’t like”.

Last night Geraldo’s Fox show did a rountable discuss of racism in the Tea Parties and black civil rights groups. Mark Williams of Tea Party Express and Matt Kibbe of Freedom Works (Dick Armey’s group) were briefly sniping over which of their groups truly spoke for the Tea Party movement. With the success of the Tea Party movement, I fear various groups like Freedom Works, Tea Party Patriots, Tea Party Nation, Tea Party Express, etc will be bad mouthing each other for the right to claim the Tea Party mvoement for themselves.

I would like to err on the side of caution here with some reservations about this "National Tea Party Federation" group.

To be honest, I don't know much about the TEA Party movement becoming a National "Federation". At first glance it doesn't appear to be in the spirit of the TEA party movement, as defined by Sarah Palin in their convention back in February, where she said:

And in that spirit, I caution against allowing this movement to be defined by any one leader or politician. The Tea Party movement is not a top-down operation. It’s a ground-up call to action that is forcing both parties to change the way that they're doing business, and that’s beautiful. This is about the people. This is about the people, and it’s bigger than any king or queen of a Tea Party. And it’s a lot bigger than any charismatic guy with a teleprompter.

The soul of this movement is the people -- everyday Americans who grow our food and run our small businesses, teach our kids, and fight our wars. They’re folks in small towns and cities across this great nation who saw what was happening -- and they saw and were concerned, and they got involved. Like you, they go to town hall meetings, and they write op-eds. They run for local office. You all have the courage to stand up and speak out. You have a vision for the future, one that values conservative principles and common sense solutions. And if that sounds like you, then you probably too are feeling a bit discouraged by what you see in Washington D.C.

Around that time several "fake" TEA parties were cropping up wanting donations and shilling for the democrat party. Some guy in Florida actually started a Tea PARTY, and official political party, which it is not...and he was a dem, or at least a RINO.

Someone is going to have to do a better selling job on me for this "Federation" thing...it sounds too groupy, and I don't like community organized "groups".

But like any organization I've ever been in, even back to the days of the Jaycees, it started with real noble purposes, aqnd devolves into a fight for power.

I believe that Mark Williams was patently foolish to post that ‘letter to President Lincoln’ that intentionally demeaned ‘colored’ people - but it should have been ignored. Making a big show about ‘expelling’ Williams, as other posters have stated, just gives the ‘racist’ smear a handle and encourages the enemies of the Tea party to keep using it. At this juncture name-calling is all the left can do, so they do it, incessantly, hoping the smear will stick enough to render the Tea Party ineffective because the majority population buy the ‘racist’ label the left has tried to smear it with. This incident should be ignored because it was an aberration. Mark Williams’ parody of Black people is not who the Tea Party folks really are. Let’s stop being put on the defensive.

The TPX is an organization that is trying to hijack the Tea Party movement. They believe they can do anything that they want as they are on of the largest Tea Party groups. There are also reports from those who once traveled with the TPX that the "real Mark Willams is not the man he presents to the public. . .

The TPX is a corrupt group that is not in it for the movement - but for the $$. Look at the money trail within the TPX. It is a tangled web that always leads back to Russo, Marsh and Rogers. There is a chart showing the ins and outs at: www.muthsuntruths.wordpress.com

Kudos to the Tea Party Federation.

What leaders? This is not a membership group. It is only, as I know it, people who happen to believe in the same thing politically, where the government is concerned. I do not have a tea party leader nor do I want one. These so called leaders need to take a long hard look at their actions and where they think they are as far as their idea of leadership and step back from the brink. They can quickly cause this movement to dissolve with their pursuit of power.

PMAS This is not directed at you. Only the fact that there are so called self appointed leaders
