Carly Fiorina, 55, has been contending with chemotherapy and radiation treatments and reconstructive surgery because of breast cancer, so she is understandably undaunted by the relatively minor challenge of winning a U.S. Senate seat in this state that last elected a freshman Republican senator in 1982, that has not supported a Republican presidential candidate since 1988, and that has not elected a right-to-life candidate in statewide voting since 1998. This race will test the power of the rising Republican wave.
Fiorina might surf it from here to Capitol Hill because her opponent, Barbara Boxer, 69, is the Senates fiercest liberal, and California is an intensely unhappy laboratory for liberalismhigh taxes, opulent entitlements, thick regulations, and subservience to government employees unions.

“Carly is not so very different from Boxer”. I don’t think Carly would make such a condescending, arrogant statement. It shows her (Boxer) true colors; red politically and yellow philosophically.
“Do me a favor,” Boxer said to Brigadier General Michael Walsh. “Could you say Senator instead of Ma’am? It’s just a thing. I worked so hard to get that title, so I’d appreciate it... yes, thank you.”
The Bear Flag was first used in 1846, the Soviet Union didn't even come around until 1917-1918. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
Might be a good time for a constitutional amendment that would specifically disallow federal bailouts of bankrupt state governments.
We're just making visceral comparisons. We're not stating facts or correlations.
It has a Soviet motif, with the bear and red star, appropriate for the commies in California.
But we wont fight them. Its not politically correct. Unlike the Greatest Generation that won WWII, our generation is a generation of zombies. The Government gives us bread and circuses to distract us. Massive debt? Tyrannical government? Destruction of American values? Eh, turn on American Idol! The 2010 elections are a turning point. If we cant rouse the majority of sleeping Americans to vote the socialists out, we are lost. Might as well give California to Mexico. The Mexicans can have the debt, too.
Huge difference on abortion...read the article.
You have to ask!!??? Boxer is an idiot, no doubt about that, but Carly is just nuts!! Californians have no choice in that race.
I left Cal in 06, right before it began to fall.
Haven’t we learned yet? Even a Republican from California will be a liberal RINO.
I have a cousin who left around that time (or shortly thereafter) for Colorado. With him as well, it was time to get out.
The taxes and state government regulation make it almost impossible to run a business in California.Toss in 6-7 million illegal immigrants sucking it dry. California is doomed.
Yep. I keep waiting to see how long it takes the entertainment industry to wise up and begin leaving. But then again, I can't say they're the most practiced hands at profitability I've encountered...
But, if they do leave, I don't want them coming to my back yard (little chance of that, though).
The entertainment industry is a trillion dollar enterprise. It is one of the only things propping up California right now, and even they are looking to leave. If and when they do, Cal is toast.
“Carly is not so very different from Boxer, so the point is hardly tested”.
You have to be kidding.........
They’ve been filming more and more in the heartland to control costs, but what will break the camel’s back is their departure from CA. May God help the region they eventually relocate to, though I might recommend Portland or Seattle...
Good old Carly Fiorina, who at HP never found a job that could not be outsourced to India or China or given to a guest worker.
She left/was forced out of HP:

They thought that about us at one time and the educated them. We can educate them again if need be. Our bigger concern is the socialist mindset that has allowed this problem to persist.
Ping!!!
