Glenn Beck Tells Audience He Might Be Going Blind
Politics Dialy ^

Posted on 07/19/2010 6:59:45 AM PDT by Scythian

During a tearful and passionate speech at his "American Revival" meeting in Salt Lake City on Saturday, Fox News host Glenn Beck revealed that he may be going blind.

During his speech (video below), Beck told the audience, "I can't focus my eyes."

Taking a shot at health care reform, Beck said, "I went to the best doctor I could find, while I could still go to the best doctor I can find."

Beck, 46, says he has been diagnosed with macular dystrophy, and joked that the doctor told him, "You could go blind in the next year . . . or you might not."

Prayers for Glen. That would be a terrible tragedy, he’s done a lot to educate people with his show.

In this blind world, only Glenn Beck can see.

I love you Glenn. Prayers up.

Blindness is very rare now a days.

Tell that to my dad. Macular degeneration is far too common.

I guess this is why he said he may have some prosthetic eyes made that instead of the natural eye color it would just say “Gold” in one eye and “Line” in the other.

I hope it doesn’t come to that.

And sometimes his ADD takes over and he’s all over the map. I wonder what he’ll say next.

I looked up the condition and it sounds worse than becoming near or far-sighted. Some cases have to have a corneal transplant

TIN FOIL HAT TIME... I find it interesting that both Rush and Beck have developed serious disease that effect their ability to communicate. Either an act of G-d (which I doubt) or an act of KGB trained folk who know how to shut up opposition. Strange. Strange,in deed...

“I looked up the condition and it sounds worse than becoming near or far-sighted. Some cases have to have a corneal transplant.”

The terminology is confusing.

There is a corneal form which could eventually require a corneal transplant-a workable solution to restore sight.

The retinal form is pretty much without meaningful treatment, but VERY RARE.

Attitude counts for a lot. An old Gunny friend of mine wears
coke-bottle glasses now. He and I and some young punk were
talking marksmanship one day. The kid points to his glasses
and says, “at 500 yards I'd just be a fuzzy blob to you.”
His reply, “I can still put a round dead center in that
fuzzy blob.”

Old age isn’t becoming near or far sighted. My optometrist says my lenses don’t have the elasticity they once did, so I have difficulty focusing. That difficulty increases with age.

Sigh! If I had known I’d live this long, I would have taken better care of my body.

“Beck is no different, old age is setting in...”

Beck is 46. Old age? Ouch, he’s two years younger than me :-(.

Don’t know you well enough to guess whether your comment is tongue-in-cheek or a spear-in-the-back shot.

Big, powerful prayers going out for Glenn. He's done more for this country than any politician in decades. He is truly a blessing.
