Rep. Walt Minnick (D-Idaho), the only member of his party to receive the backing of the Tea Party Express rejected the group's endorsement Monday citing the controversy over a blog post written by one of its leaders Mark Williams.

At last, Walt Minnick made a mistake in the campaign. The TEA Party endorsement had been a coup for him.
Incidentally, the TEA Party expelled Mark Williams right away.
The dims are batting 1000. Simplifies things.
This is about the TPX only....
The left has succsessfully planted the racist meme now, just like they did with “Stupid” Palin.
Yet, ZERO coverage of NAACP or Ku Klux Panther racism, because the gay newsroom staffers at the bigs would riot at the damage that does to the Democrats.
Welcome to George Orwell Planet.
Call me when any of these idiots does something remotely close to that kind of damage to the socialists, then they can call themselves legitimate.
No the "Tea Party Federation" expelled the Tea Party Express.
The membership of the National Tea Party Federation has this evening suspended and will immediately expel Tea Party Express from any further association with the Federation should they fail to publicly rebuke Mark Williams and remove him from their ranks by 3 pm eastern time Saturday July 17.
The rebuke must take the following form:
1. Mark Williams must be officially removed from the ranks of the Tea Party Express.
2. Notice of Mark Williams' removal must be placed prominently on the official Tea Party Express website.
3. Tea Party Express must issue a press release articulating points 1 and 2 above.

Last night, a member of the National Tea Party Federation communicated our decision directly to a member of the leadership team of Tea Party Express. That leader's response was clear: they have no intention of taking the action we required for their group to continue as a member of the National Tea Party Federation.
Therefore, effective immediately the National Tea Party Federation is expelling Tea Party Express from the ranks of our membership.
IMO the Tea Party Federation, which isn't that large with about 65 groups, overstepped its bounds and played right into the hands of the Left and the race baiters.
TEA PARTY ACTIVISTS: "We'll be sure to call you off your couch at your convenience."
The Tea Party Express IS legit!
I’ve never heard of The Tea Party Federation.
Having said this...
The Tea Party has no leaders for this reason!
We are all leaders.
Your Judgement is absolutely Spot On IMHO
I would estimate we are at a one digit percentage level of effectiveness to date, but remember big fires can start from small embers. The requirement to catch on fire, is relentlessness, consistency, and intense fervor. IMHO
Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the info.
I read what Mark Williams wrote. It was disgusting.
The Boston Tea Party is remembered because they destroyed 90,000 pounds of tea and caused ONE MILLION DOLLARS IN DAMAGE.
Our Tea Partiers pick up their own garbage.
The commies laugh at us
What exactly did you find "disgusting?"
A good question since many are trying to co-opt the movement and the name. Walt Minnick is one of the few Dems I support, he has voted agsainst every Obama overspend initiative, including TARP, porkulus and Obamacare.
Thanks, we’ll do the heavy lifting and call you to claim the glory.
If it was meant as satire, it wasn’t funny. If anyone played into the hands of the left, it was Mark Williams himself.
Come on. Specifically, what did you find “disgusting?”
Thank You for posting this to clear up what was a truly frustrating situation!
I Am The Leader Of The Tea Party!
I don’t get what he was trying to do.
Anyway at least some good has come of it. The “TPE” is now free to stop being idiotic and back the proper candidate, the Republican Labrador rather than the rat who had to struggle to hide his contempt for the Tea Party movement.
I’m open to suggestions. And was the damage measured in 1773 dollars? If so, we’d have to destroy the entire GDP.
I missed what MW said - what was so bad?
Here’s an excerpt from the article:
“Williams posted a mock letter to President Abraham Lincoln from Benjamin Jealous, the president of the NAACP. It came on the heels of the NAACPs July 13 passage of a resolution calling on Tea Party leaders to repudiate racist elements of the movement.
The mock letter begins: We Colored People have taken a vote and decided that we dont cotton to that whole emancipation thing. Freedom means having to work for real, think for ourselves, and take consequences along with the rewards. That is just far too much to ask of us Colored People and we demand that it stop! “
“Specifically, what did you find disgusting?
The part where he said, even if in jest, that the NAACP wants slavery to be restored.
The NAACP has been on the Dem plantation for some time. They are just another political arm of the Dem party that surfaces near election time to stir up racial hatred and discontent. Williams' satire may or may not have been over the top for some, but it was right on the mark in terms of substance. The NAACP marches in lockstep with the Dems and takes its orders from them. And blacks vote over 90% of the time for the Dems. No other demographic shows such group think and slavish adherence to one political party.
I am a Tea Party member and have participated in numerous events including the 912 march on Washington and will continue to participate in the future. This movement has no hierarchical organization or national leader. I find the self-censorship of Webb and the the Tea Party Federation to be offensive and disgusting. It also sends the wrong message that Williams and the Tea Party Express are racists. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Holy Gullibility, Batman, looks like our side fell for it again. When are we going to grow a collective spine? Our enemies, both foreign and domestic, are laughing at us.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Of course the vast majority of TEA Party members are not racists. That should be quite obvious. The TEA Party is one of the best developments in recent American history. So it's absurd for you to defend the rantings of a man whose posting defamed the TEA Party and played right into the NAACP’s hands. If I were a conspiracy theorist, I'd conclude that Mark Williams was a plant whose mission was to make the TEA Party movement look bad. At the very least, the TEA Party Express could simply point out that Williams speaks for himself and no one else.
