Drag racing, road racing, Sprint Car races and other events suited to a shorter track fall to ORP, which changed its name from Indianapolis Raceway Park in 2006. You can also usually find a large racing program there on the night before the Indianapolis 500. The annual NHRA U.S. Nationals are traditionally held there on Labor Day weekend and SCCA events are held on the park's road course. ![]() Track Facts Banking/Turns: 12 degrees Distance: .686 miles Shape: Oval Banking: 7.5° turns / 2° straights As always, the Nascar at FR race threads are Dedicated to Our Troops serving around the world! Been to two races at Indy, 1981 Indy 500 and 2002 F1. Would like to see a NASCAR race there.
#00!
Thank you for the thread!
I didn’t like the week off from racing but this one came at a good time because of family obligations; we have a variety of AB Steaks to chose from for our race meal.
Hmmmm, I don’t see Jr. in the photo...
Good comments by Larry McReynolds. I don’t think the final chapter btn these two has been written yet though.
Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 60, has been penalized with the loss of 60 Nationwide Series championship drivers' points, fined $25,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31. Car owner Jack Roush has been penalized with the loss of 60 series championship owners' points.
Brad Keselowski, driver of the No. 22, has been placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31.
I wonder how many people think to call the sponsors marketing departments and voice their displeasure? It’s been a couple of long days here...
Unfair, IMO. Keselowski’s wreck wouldn’t have been so bad if he hadn’t hit the gas after hitting the wall. So, if torn up race cars are the reason for the fine, Keselowski deserves a piece of that.
They could both stand to ease up a little, though.
The old coulda...shoulda...woulda. I find it amusing that Roush lost a couple of cars as a result of a pair of juveniles playing Nascar Roulette...
Like I said, they could both stand to ease up.
I’d sure like to see that. I like Jamie Mac.
Don’t want Montoya to win, though! :-)
Nor do I. Nascar should deport Montoada to Brazil or where ever he is from...
Ya’ll sound like a couple of racist, redneck, Nascar crackers.:)
You been reading the journolist blog again dude?
My sister from Oklahoma is on her way and should be in Bend Saturday. Says she is tired of living in hell.
I’m guessing on drivers for the race as I don’t know whether to go with the stats or w/my gut instincts. I wonder if Lady Luck has a hot-line.
Hey, we could always have another ‘tar’ day at Indy!
We had a family visit us from a foreign state yesterday and his son made a crack about me being stuck in 10th place in the league so I spent last night looking for stats...
“Tar” day at Indy.....groan.
T.B., didja find anything useful?? I tried the 1-800 # for Lady Luck but twasn’t the lucky lady I was interested in. The clue was when they asked me for my credit card number.
Nap and then wrap gifts for last wife’s birthday. (Tomorrow)
I was starting to respect JPM until he drove across Regan Smith’s hood in the Sprint Showdown, and then blamed it on Smith, saying he had no talent.
Since then, he’s been driving like he did in 2007.
Guess you didn’t get the “free” part huh?
That’s my opinion of Flipper right now. ;)
Nope, went over my head. Still trying to recover from moving my son. Our food budget has been cut by more than 1/2.
How does a high of 96 w/ 18% humidity grab ya - our forecast for Saturday & Sunday. Now you know why we don’t have skeeters.
I hope the “good” Jimmie shows up Sunday. He’ll be one of my “A” drivers. Debating Gordon/Stewart as the other...probably Stewart as I have 7 starts remaining for him.
Couldn’t handle the lack of humidity, skin will crack, nose bleeds, dry hacking cough. Need water, not quite as much as we have today though. Back to raining again, then sunshine, then steam...
Yup, lizard skin is a problem but I’ll take it. Going to sit in a lake near Bachelor tomorrow and float the Deschutes River Sunday.
I haven’t changed my drivers for at least 4 hours so I better go do that.
LOL Most down here have leather skin from the sun and wind.
Then whats the use of all that humidity??
BTW, I finally got it.
Fawnn...yer photo retouches are timeless!
Makes for “soft” leather. ;)
Thank you. ;)
I was looking for Fawn’s work (which I couldn’t find??) but with great humbleness I must admit I’m the 1st to report a sighting of the FR logo on the Office Depot car.
Another beautiful day in paradise; about 60 of em left before it starts to snow again.
I, for one, am going to act my age today but sadly I’ll miss qualifying by doing it.
Glad you found it, one day we may actually have a real one. :)
We would normally be in our typical hot and dry loop except the hurricanes started early this year which brings daily showers.
