Rush Limbaugh Responds to JournoLister Wishing His Death By Noel Sheppard Created 07/21/2010 - 10:38 Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh has responded to reports that an NPR producer wrote gleefully about his death in an e-mail message to the now infamous JournoList.
As NewsBusters reported [0] Wednesday, the Daily Caller's Jonathan Strong published [1] some more of the liberal group's e-mail messages which included Sarah Spitz claiming that she would "Laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out" as Limbaugh writhed in torment.
With this in mind, both the Washington Examiner's Byron York and myself asked Limbaugh for a response to this nonsense.
First, here's work Limbaugh told [2] York:
I can only surmise. I think most people on the left live in a world where merit is irrelevant. Theirs is a world in which connections, networking, kissing ass and obedient sameness are rewarded. I am the antithesis of all that. I am a legitimate, achieved and accomplished Number One and I've made it on my own and without them and without having followed their proscriptions. I think they are also jealous that I just sold my NY condo for a 125 percent profit while their homes are worthlessly underwater.
Funny thing....a number of my friends sent me the Daily Caller piece and the most shocking thing to them in the story was the advocacy of having government shut down Fox News. That the left wants me dead was not a big deal to them because it was nothing new to them. I think that's hilarious. And about that: how about the LAW professor who thinks the FCC can pull Fox's license? Fox does not have a license. The FCC does not grant Fox its right to exist. And this guy teaches law.
Moments after York's piece was published, I asked Limbaugh via e-mail if there was anything he wanted to add. This was his response:
And it is not just that they hate how I became who I am. They literally hate ME. They hate me because I am the most prominent, effective and unrelenting voice of conservatism and they have not been able to stop me. These people and their tactics are not new, we've seen them before in other countries and other times. They want to destroy contrary and opposition voices and views. They will climb over the law and the people to achieve their aims. Earlier in this administration, the president and his hacks targeted me, his party targeted me and their groups targeted me. They are all the same. They are leftists, disguised as lawyers, judges, scholars, professors, teachers, reporters, anchors, senators, representatives, legislative aids, congressional staff, federal bureaucrats, etc. There is NO Media. We know that now. There is just an incestuous relationship among all these various groups and a revolving door connecting them all.
To be a liberal is, by definition, to be not fully adult.
Rush understands liberal hatred - the law prof thinks we're already living in his totalitarian dream world where conservatives are sent off to camps and their rights to free speech are shut down.
We're not there yet - and with Rush and Fox on our side, maybe we'll never have a totalitarian state forced down our throats.

How exactly would the government yank Fox off the air? I am unclear about that one given our 1st amendment rights.
I would rather think we should look into allowing NPR to compete in an open marketplace rather than relying on government subsidies for a communication vehicle that is not limited to emergency broadcasts. Shoot, the entity may thrive.
It may not do so well. I guess it depends on the ratings. Alas to generate ratings and attract advertising dollars, it has to build credibility much like news services and papers must work to demonstrate factual accuracy. They are doing well, yes, no?

This raises an interesting hypothetical for me. Suppose we divided America in half? One-half would be just for liberals and the other half would be for conservatives. Presumably, the liberals would build a huge, giant wall (like the one they WON'T build on our southern border), allegedly to keep us OUT (as opposed to its REAL purpose, to keep them IN!!).
I wonder, after living in their liberal paradise with all its lies, freebies, abortions and havoc, how long would it take before some of these people would be pleading for "political asylum" in the conservative America they claim to hate so much (including all of its icons)??

I think you get the point.
There is a significant number of people in this country who have legitimate ideas contrary to your own. They have been bullied and cowered by mainstream journalism and the “elite” class for too long. A sleeping giant has awakened and I believe this is only the beginning.
While objectively, one must imagine how a professor can reconcile your Fox proposition with academic freedom and free expression, because you could very easily be on the receiving end some day of that very same proposal.
Unfortunately, I think that in your mind and in the mind of many others who do not agree with other legitimate views that the “ends justifies the means”. Historically this type of activity and its justification has not worked out so well for humanity.

One thing I always like that Rush does is rub financial gain in the left’s face. The left will hardly mention what he makes since it implies success. When Rush gets a new contract, I’ve always heard him make a joke like “Why is it they get the annual amount right, but .... THEY KEEP FORGETTING THE SIGNING BONUS?” :-).
I’ve always viewed most leftists I know in the following categories :
1> True believers. These are the ones that flat out believe their ideas are sound. These are the ones that can debate yet don’t want to see you die nor ship off dissenting voices to conversion centers.
2> Overgrown children. People that think money is something you print and that government should be able to print money for all w/o any repercussions.
3> People that know *exactly* what they are doing ... these are the dangerous, deranged ones. Usually, something goes wrong in their life that is “everyone’s fault but their own”. The solution is to change everyone, by force, so that they appear to be right. Usually, these people are the most selfish and sick people on the planet. A question that usually causes a nervous breakdown if you catch one of these people alone is “Why do you have this sick obsession with controlling people’s lives?”. Start with that and show that it is a form of slavery ... their head explodes.
They are becoming unhinged. Remember, the left isn’t that thrilled with Obama since he’s “not progressive enough” or is “not moving fast enough”. Come November, even if the Republicans simply reduce their deficits in the House and Senate by about +25 and +4 seats respectively, this President is neutered.
I want to win one either part of congress badly, but we have GOT to make sure the leadership in that case can fight a media that will blame anything bad on anything a Republican controls.
Sorry for the rambling. These people are just maddening. I could go insane knowing my tax dollars give a bitch like this Spitz media whore fractions of a penny to “earn” a living in this country.
Another thing that makes me vomit is that people who listen to NPR think they are enlightened or something ... arrrghghghghhg :-). NPR is nothing new ... it’s basically what Radio Moscow did throughout the middle of the 20th century ;-).
