This Shirley Sherrod story has really brought out the aggressive side of CNN. Earlier in the day, John King went toe-to-toe with Andrew Breitbart over the video released on Big Government that cost him his job. Later, Campbell Brown took down the vice president of the NAACP on their president’s statement that they were “snookered,” telling the organization, “you’re the ones to blame here.”
Brown, in rare aggressive form not really seen since her classic takedown of McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds in 2008, slammed NAACP Vice President Hilary Shelton for repeating the claim made by President Ben Jealous that Breitbart and Fox News “snookered” the NAACP into condemning Sherrod’s claims:
“I don’t believe you were snookered. You allowed yourself to be snookered and you’re the ones to blame here because you had the tape in your possession and you could have easily watched it and known the full context of her remarks. You didn’t have to take your information solely from these conservative bloggers you now say snookered you.”
Shelton stammered that “the only video that was available was on the website [Big Government]” and that they had retracted their original statement following their initial rebuking of Sherrod’s speech. It’s been a very bad day for the NAACP.
Proof that the NAACP is quick to jump to conclusions with out checking facts.

Sherrod didn’t withhold help to a white farmer due to race when she said she withheld help to a farmer due to his race. Clearly she was taken out of context when she said it was about race when she said she withheld help to a white farmer due to his race.
There's a reason for it. It takes attention off the fact that they applauded racism while trying to find and condemn it in the Tea Party.
Again...the media is focusing on the “getting snookered” angle instead of focusing on the agreeing NAACP audience members that attened this event. They chuckled, smiled, nodded their heads....reread what she said and substitute white for black....now tell me what the media would be focusing on?

The audience at the NAACP approved of her racist remarks, regardless of her “coming clean” later in the tape.
Alos George Soros’ Media Matters routinely miscasts conservative quotes with selective redacting (often playing a tape of a talk radio host READING SOMEONE ELSE’S WORDS and then denouncing that viewpoint). The media never bothers to set the record straight.
We still don’t know who manufactured the bogus racist “Rush Limbaugh” wikiquotes but we do know WHY (smear campaign).

We are one country, one people and the days of victems are long over. There is still racism in small pockets, but the only way that will end is if we work together. The only people victimizing blacks are black and their enablers.

I don’t understand how Breitbart got canned when he owns the website.
If Shirley Sherrod was white, this is the standard that she would be held to.
She would be fired and black listed and ruined like a white person would be for the same thing.
That’s the standard - Breitbart applied the standard to a black women and “conservatives” turn on him.
All our energy is now tied up in destroying Breitbart instead of teaching the leasson to the NAACP.

This was all just a ploy to get the that story off the headlines.
Sherrod is, in my opinion, more culpable as a Marxist class-war fanatic, than just a black racist.
Another reason they are now trying to bury this whole issue...as Breitbart explained...the tape shows that the NAACP crowd were laughing, cheering, and clapping as Sherrod explained her multiple mistreatments of the white farmer.

At another point when King questioned Breitbart’s methods, Breitbart turned on him and CNN, skeptical of whether the fact that the story Sherrod tells happened two decades before, as has been affirmed:
“If it is the case and it can be shown to me that the incident that she’s talking about was done many years ago and not in her current context — but as a reporter, you tell me how you confirmed that the incident that she’s talking about was 24 years ago. You tell me as a reporter how CNN put on a person today who purported to be the farmer’s wife. What did you do to find out whether or not that was the actual farmer’s wife? I mean there has– if you’re going to accuse me of a falsehood, tell me where you’ve confirmed that this incident happened 24 years ago?”

Actually I was thinking about Sanford and Son! Still wish it was on in prime time. My kids loved it. Amos and Andy was one of the very few shows my parents would let me watch when I was growing up - albeit in black and white on an 8 inch screen.

It is. She's saying that if they weren't black, they wouldn't have reacted the way they did -- to Breitbart's tape, that is. You can bet that Campbell is in fact being accused of racism by the left.

I really don’t find Sherrod sympathetic, imagine a white person telling a white crowd how they mistreated a black person on purpose? And her big revelation was that racism wasn’t the ruling principle, it was “rich against poor”?
I think the whole thing is ludicrous. Of course the left has rushed to embrace her as innocent. She was not innocent by her own admission.
I doubt girlfriend treated white farmer as she did initially as an isolated incident. How many did she not help and how many did lose their farms?
So, we quickly apologize and pay her a few million because we jumped the facts? How about holding the apology until we have more facts?
I want a congressional investigation into how many loans her agency approved/rejected, and especially those girlfriend handled.
White farmer reparations, anyone?

My favorite characters were Calhoun(Jessie Jackson) and Lightning(Sharpton or Obama).
