Hiring illegal aliens instead of American kids. Nice.
Hope & change.
In construction and landscaping, illegal immigrants have pushed teens out of jobs...

News flash for ya, Bucky. It ain’t just teens that have been pushed out of jobs.
If they’d just have a “training wage” for kids under the age of 18 that is 2 or 3 dollars less than the minimum wage, this wouldn’t be a problem.
When I was a teenager, more years ago than I’d like to admit, construction jobs were available in the summertime. I worked every year in the construction business from the time I was 16 until I finished college at 23. I paid almost half of my college expenses by working construction and other jobs. Today college kids cannot get this work because it’s reserved for illegal immigrants (and some not so illegal). I think this is pathetic. These kids will graduate with higher debt than what I did. I paid off my debt in less than 2 years (lived at home) and I was free as a bird. This is a despicable situation where we hire illegal immigrants rather than have our young do this work. I’m glad I grew up in a better time.
Good idea, gator!
>>landscaping, illegal immigrants have pushed teens out of jobs<<
Not really true. An aggressive teenager with the right gear can make plenty mowing lawns. Hell, I did OK 25 years ago and I didn’t even have all the equipment. People around here would drop their mowing crew in a heartbeat for a $5 cut IF they knew the teen was worthwhile.
I want to secure borders and deport everyone, but let’s not make excuses for lazy teens.
On my trips to S. California, I noticed that the car washes, gas stations, and any manual labor jobs - all Mexicans, and mostly illegal.
In my small town in PA - the car washes, gas stations, landscaping jobs - are filled with local college and high school kids making a few bucks for the summer.
Don’t tell me these are jobs Americans don’t want!!
With Obama in the whitehouse, they had better get used to it.
When the Democratic Party took control of both houses of Congress following the 2006 congressional elections, it promised to increase the federal wage to $7.25/hr. in its "first 100 hours" on the floor. On January 10, 2007, the House did so through the passage of H.R. 2 ..... which would raise the wage to $7.25,...
And now the price we paid for that "first 100 hours"
My 21 & 19 yo daughters both found work this summer...1 FT and the other PT and there was babysitting to do as well! The youngest also cuts grass on our 2 acres in the summer....for that she gets to belong to a private pool
If the Usurper gets his way, many teenagers are going to be unemployed for LIFE!
Stupid is supposed to hurt.
I have had no less than 12 men ask if they could cut my grass in the past month.
That’s right, full grown men in their 30’s
It’s bad out there.
Howz that hopin change doing for you kids?
Think this is bad, most law school students did not find summer associate positions this summer which means they probably aren’t going to find a job when they graduate. Many of those who dod find a job will likely deferred 9-18 months after graduating before they get to start work.
From groundskeepers to bartenders, to the ones working the Taco Bell franchise there, to traffic flow to the ones that pick the beer bottles out of the port-a-johns, every single last one of them is a local white young adult.
It really gives me hope.
See you still live in America. The rest of America is no longer like small town PA.
Employers like illegals because they are cheap, work like dogs and never complain. I am not saying overpay Americans but lots of employers like slavery-Lite by employing illegals.
My niece is teaching horseback riding to kids. She has over 40 students, and is raking in the dough.
No illegal aliens in this field!
