I believe I may have pushed for that in the wake of 9/11. Minus the cross.

Here’s the REAL problem, since I’m SURE the “Learning Center” as planned, will NEVER be built at Ground Zero:
eventually, they will give up that location, and ‘trade up’
in some kind of Real Estate exchange to secure a building in another part of the city. That possibility or something like it should be suggested to Imam Rauf, just to test whether or not he is more attached to that precise site for the “Learning Center”, or the Learning Center itself.
Chances are he would quickly lose interest, and that would tell you definitively just where his head is at.
The point is, the Cordoba Center should not be built ANYWHERE in New York, and not ANYWHERE in America.
TO repeat a phrase probably invented by someone else in 2001 or 2002, “Everything I need to know about Islam I learned on 9-11”.
It doesn’t help when NYC has a craven pipsqueak Mayor like Michael Bloomberg, who continually tries to out-Lib the Libs.I can’t believe Ed Koch would’ve done what Bloomberg is doing.
Well, I looked it up and I was wrong. Ed Koch is just about as craven and naive as Bloomberg. Neither of them understands that the plans to construct this mosque has NOTHING to do with those multitudes of “peaceful” Muslims living amongst us.Their existence doesn’t require it, or justify it on any level. THey already have their own mosques, and this 13 story monument to their ‘faith’ is already redundant even as a concept. Some of them are pinpointed as serving as useful idiots for the would-be Islamic power players like Imam Rauf. Most of them will not frequent the place anyway, which Rauf probably envisions in part as a recruitment center for disaffected Americans looking for something to put some cockeyed and edgy “meaning” in their lives.
This makes my infidel blood boil.
