We had a trip and stopped our mail. They were supposed to deliver it per the request on Tuesday. Didn't come. We called. Didn't come Wednesday. Called again. “Oh, the carrier is going to be so embarrassed was the reply!” Pretty good cover up for the PO, haa! Oh, and by the way, it came today and some of our neighbor's mail was also in that bundle. UGH. I guess everyone is on vacation now!
Mr. RR got his bachelor’s degree in forestry. He was a Ranger in the early 1970’s, first on the Olympic Peninsula (Washington)and then in the Black Hills National Forest....and he loved it. He left the Forest Service when it became rather obvious that all the new hires were idealistic enviro-wackos. It’s rather sad to see what that once great organization has come to. It is all politicized now.

A good pal of mine just retired from the Forest Circus, although he is still working for the Circus on contract making more $$ than when he was an employee.
He left disgusted with the organization. He’s an ex-marine and started out as a FS smoke jumper and ended up as a minerals/mining specialist...great guy, very professional and can-do attitude, just the kind of attitude that frustrates the heck out of the clods in the organization.
He used to tell me that the only way to advance in the USFS now is to be a woman, preferably of minority status, with a degree in ecology, recreation, or biology. No timber or range management types need apply.

If you have a problem or a threat which you won’t call by its right name, how can it be discussed, and how can it be dealt with. The illegal Mexican immigrant is not displaced. He was not lifted up by some space ship and deposited in the United States. He came here illegally. (If he were actually displaced involuntarily, somebody had to displace him, and he should be required to identify them so he can be armed and parachuted at night to his place of origin, and the government of the place of his origin should be notified to keep an eye on him as a redisplaced returnee. He may have had some help getting here, but he is not displaced. He is illegaly here. He is not a wanderer! He is more or less where he wants to be (illegally) involved in patently illegal activity. If we lived in a country in control of itself, we wouldn’t be allowing this perpetual silent invasion. We would just state that if you sneak into this country illegally and get caught we will parachute you into Death Valley naked and unequipped and simply leave your fate to mother nature.
Maybe the answer to this, though is to rename Death Valley as “the Valley of the Displaced Foreign Travellers” and pass a two laws. One would require that “the Valley of the Displaced Foreign Travelers” was no longer part of the United States, and the other, that any displaced foreign travelers make a choice: either be tried as in illegal alien or be labeled a displaced foreign traveler and parachuted into the Valley of the Displaced Foreign Traveller.

Also, should they want to run for office, all qualifications listed in federal or state constitutions would be null and void, and there would be a presumption that the Displaced Foreign Traveller was entitled to carry at least a dozen concealed weapons.
