Askew, though, maintains there's only one national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner,"... ...and "The Star-Spangled Banner" has the added advantage of sounding A LOT better on elctric guitar than "Lift Every Voice and Sing".

There’s nothing wrong with “Lift Every Voice and Sing” that depoliticizing the issue wouldn’t fix. And this isn’t a real issue - it’s silly season nonsense. Pack your grumbles and grudges back up.

Well Ben, while it is obvious to you and to me, this is an issue of sensitivity for black people. For a professor at a historically black college to write a books saying this is tantamount to heresy.
