“Obama’s Not a Socialist”
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | July 23, 2010 | Bosch Fawstin

A glimpse of the analysis in Dr. Leonard Peikoff's forthcoming book, The DIM Hypothesis.

At the 2010 Objectivist conference/OCON, Dr. Leonard Peikoff was presenting material from his forthcoming book, The DIM Hypothesis, in which he analyzes Western culture and history from the perspective of the epistemological process of integration. I was surprised to learn that, according to Peikoff’s analysis, Barack Obama is not, as I and others have been saying, a socialist or communist. Socialists or communists are examples of what Peikoff calls “misintegration,” or integration by non-rational means. Obama, Peikoff thinks, is anti-ideological, and as such has no long-range guiding values or theory of society. He does not integrate his thoughts and actions by any means, valid or invalid. Rather, Peikoff describes Obama as an almost-but-not-yet-fully consistent egalitarian nihilist, and thus a manifestation of the same trend which Peikoff calls D2, i.e., the form of Kantianism that gave us non-objective art, quantum mechanics, and progressive education. Because I am no expert on philosophy, for more on Peikoff’s views, I refer you to his forthcoming book.

-- the form of Kantianism that gave us non-objective art, quantum mechanics, and progressive education --

Why is quantum mechanics on this list?

And there are so many of them and they’ve been at this for a long time. I feel sorry for the fools who actually believe they’re here to help them.

non-objective art, quantum mechanics, and progressive education.

One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong.

Read Einstein and Rand. If you can’t put it together, stop reading and go back to mysticism and just enjoy yourself. Life is short after all.

How does that saying go? “The greatest trick the Devil played was to convice us that he didn’t exist.”

Good evening. I trust you are well.

There will be no peaceful way to remove them from power.

I pray that you are wrong.

This helps to understand why die hard liberals
are not concerned about traditional morays.

Bill Clinton, Obama are amoral and immoral.
That is not a concern to these nihlists. Right and wrong are always fluid. Murder is a mistake. Cheaters make poor decisions. Judgement is only reserved for the enlightened prophets of this cause. The great unwashed need to keep silent.

They speak of an egalitarian society yet they have little regard for their fellow citizen.

Perhaps Einstein "God does not play dice with the Universe" is dabbling in mysticism and so are you.

They speak of an egalitarian society yet they have little regard for their fellow citizen.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

That is because they are fascists. Politics is war.And power is the prize. Power absolute. And they will do anything to maintain it, and bring about utopia which can only exist in totalitarian form.

This article is a red herring.A diatribe in psychopomposity which avoids the cogent issues of totalitarian leftist fascist history, so recently and elegantly revealed by Jonah Goldberg in his well annotated historical treatise,"Liberal Fascism."

We do not need a psychological diagnosis, a diagnostic of Obama mind set. ( He is not a nihilist anyway, he is a compulsive manic narcissist.) We need an historical one , a diagnosis from previous events.Who wants to listen to Kant when we can listen to Winston Churchill who fought fascism, lived to tell the tale and wrote history about it?

Not only does Churchill reveal the fascist diagnostic, he tells us how to fight and defeat fascism. It was his gift to our civilization. In literature Churchill's approach was echoed by Tolkien in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Someone is always trying to re-invent the wheel. In this case it can result in millions of people getting needlessly killed if we do not define Obama, his junta, his movement, accurately and correctly according to the lessons of history. The parallels of present day America to 1920s Europe are shocking and quite astounding, for those who care to really look. And in looking we see how this fascist movement can be defeated,BEFORE it achieves totalitarian power. Europe failed to accomplish that.

WE CANNOT FAIL. THE WORLD DEPENDS ON US.

There is no belief. There is simply the utilization of whatever works at any given time for the purpose of obtaining any given goal. All of that can change at any time.

Will to power. Ends justify means. “I won.”

Identifying this crowd with any of the recognizable political ideologies might work for the purpose of unifying an opposition, but they simply laugh at that tactic, turn around and imply the opposite just long enough to confuse a vital fraction of the electorate and, for good measure, have their propagandists mount a double-think campaign using the epithet, whatever it might be, as a descriptive of their critics.

I know this is facile and not philosophy, but egalitarian nihilism means they despise everyone equally and are driven to destroy everything. The only hierarchy of values I can discern is “We need to win and we need you to lose.”

Yup. Einstein was wrong: Bell’s inequalities are violated in nature, so no classical local hidden variable theory can account for the observed behavior of matter. If you want a classical theory so “God doesn’t play dice”, you have to allow instantaneous action at a distance to simulate what quantum mechanics describes.

Now Einstein did a magnificent job of describing how strange space and time are, but his anti-quantum intuitions were wrong.
