HOT! Tea Party Candidate could be single Senate vote that stops Dems dead in tracks during lame duck session!
July 23, 2010 by Eric Odom
UPDATE: Ed Morrissey interviewed Christine here. Gateway Pundit interviewed her here. Caffeinated Thoughts has some good stuff here.
I dont know why this hasnt made the rounds yet, but what Im about to write is explosive and should have the entire liberty movement ready to act.
As my good friend Robert Stacy McCain wrote this morning, Christine ODonnell is now gaining significant ground against liberal Republican Mike Castle in the special election to replace Joe Biden in 2010.
Pay close attention to that last part there
the special election to replace Joe Biden in 2010. Keep that thought in the pocket for a minute, and go read John Funds post about the Lame Duck session the Democrats are planning to use as a last ditch effort to push through bad bills that will fail once they lose power.
The most important part for the purpose of this post is here:
"there have been signs in recent weeks that party leaders are planning an ambitious, lame-duck session to muscle through bills in December they dont want to defend before November. Retiring or defeated members of Congress would then be able to vote for sweeping legislation without any fear of voter retaliation."
The U.S. Senate will provide Democrats with a solid opportunity because Scott Brown, the Republican who is now acting and voting like a Democrat, will likely help them pass some of these bad laws in a lame duck session.
Now back to that special election in Delaware
Because the election to replace Joe Biden is a special election, the winner would be immediately seated.
You see what Im getting at?
Now depending on who wins, this could be a blessing or a curse. Let me explain
Liberal Republican Mike Castle is literally the most far left Republican in Congress right now. The laws hes passed are staggering when it comes to direct violations of his oath to protect the rights and liberties of Americans.
Not only does Mike Castle carry water for the far left Obama administration (his recent votes in support of FinReg and Cap-and-trade are perfect examples), Castle co-authored the potentially disastrous Grassroots Gag Order, or Disclose Act that would possibly hit the Senate for a vote in the lame duck. This means that Mike Castle would be able to vote on these laws twice. And we already know how hell vote.
So you see, Mike Castle would almost certainly vote WITH the Democrats and join their efforts to force bad laws upon the American people in a lame duck session.
The movement has hope, however, in that tea party Candidate Christine ODonnell is now surging in the Republican Primary race and Mike Castle is slipping significantly. Christine ODonnel would, without a doubt, strongly oppose and vote against these bad laws and she would stand tall with the American people in the process.
According to a recent Rasmussen Poll, both Christine ODonnell and Mike Castle would beat Democrat Chris Coons in the general election.
Do you see the implications here? This makes the Delaware Senate race the most important Senate race in the country for the movement. If Mike Castle wins, the Democrats and Obama get to push their agenda on us. If Christine ODonnell wins, Democrats are stopped dead in their tracks.
The tea party candidate in the Delaware Senate race could derail the plans of the left. That is, if we can help her cross the finish line and win.
With this in mind, I strongly encourage you to visit Christine2010.com and do what needs to be done.

Sounds like a good chance. To replace Bite-Me Joe Biden with a Tea Party gal would be sweet!

Mike Castle would vote to support the Obama agenda as surely as his Democrat opponent would.

We have a chance to put a constitutional conservative in the senate in November and prevent a lame duck push for socialism.

Everyone should help out with this race if they can. The primary is on 9/14. Help Christine O'Donnell knock off a RINO and stand up for America!

Because the election to replace Joe Biden is a special election, the winner would be immediately seated. That is such an important point. You just know that when they lose control of the House they are going to try to ram through all manner of collectivist schemes and entitlements before the new Congress is seated, schemes both major and seemingly minor.
The importance of gaining that one extra seat ahead of time is incalculable.

It's
Delaware fer chrissake. There are well under a million people in the entire state. Out of that, how many likely Republican primary voters can there be? Maybe a few tens of thousands? (The
total of Republican Presidental primary voters in 2008 was only 50,000. The turnout in a special election would presumably be smaller.) How hard can it be to contact likely voter by phone, or even in person, and explain Castle's voting record in the House?

Christine is not third party! It only seems that way because the Republican Party of Delaware holds a Convention in June where 350 votes are cast - winners are the ONLY ones the party recognizes or will support in any way. Then, we have the Primary in September - That's when 'We the People' have our say. (and if the party candidate loses, they have to eat crow)
I know, lousy system, but we haven't been able to change it - YET!
Castle's support is crashing and Christine's is going up fast.
Christine is a Conservative Republican candidate - voters just have to turn out for the primary to make her the 'Official' candidate.
As far as November, Rasmussen poll has her 2% ahead of the Democrat even now, and Castle only getting 47% in June and seems to be sinking. Not a comfortable position for a 17 year incumbent. But with his support for Cap and Trade, would have gone with Obamacare if they had needed him, voting to quash grassroots campaigns, FinReg, etc. etc., and in fact, voting 6 out of 10 votes for Obama's way...We don't need him! Are better off without him!
It is somewhat like having 3 new tires on your car and one that keeps going flat on you. Castle is that one! You can't count on it (or him) to be there when you need him. There is even some talk of him pulling an Arlen Specter maneuver. NO THANKS! We'll just work twice as hard and do the American thing - Git-R-Dun!

LOL, I have known some people (in the Military we called them scroungers) If you needed a sherman tank sitting in Central Park at noon tomorrow, don’t ask any questions, but it would be there...
So, should we ‘escort’ Christine in an MRAP to the center of the Rotunda to have her sworn in? Seriously, outgoing place holder we have in there will be decertified as of the election and Christine would be the official Delaware Senator by Delaware Law - Bo Biden, Attorney General, backs off in confrontational situation that he thinks he might lose. (Like for his Father’s seat)

Don’t know a lot about Mr. Bullock, but he did work for then Gov. Tom Carper (D) and lives up in the Liberal part of the State - but any shenanigans on this would adversely affect his credibility in the thousands of corporate dealings he has every month.
I sincerely hope he does the right thing. We don’t usually have big troubles with that here. Votes are straight with voting machines we have used for years without problems and poll watchers are effective. So usually we have early results and everyone gets ready for Returns Day - All Candidates mount horse drawn carriages and ceremonially bury the hatchet on the Circle at Georgetown.

The loathsome dems in the Senate have to seat the winner -— look out for games. If she wins by less than 1% the dems would pour millions of dollars into endless recounts and legal challenges just to keep her one vote neutralized for as long as possible. Bet on it.

LOL, Yep, small in many ways, but power tries to exert itself just the same...
Like last week, we held ‘The Great Conservative Cookout’ - at a farm 6 miles out from a town not many knew of. We anticipated about 500, prepared for 750, but had almost 1,500 show up - to a farm on a 95 degree day, to sit in the barn, talk to candidates who had booths and hear them speak to the group.
Mike Castle had his Constituent Liaison come, entered front door, skirted around candidates and slid out the back door - all in 3 minutes.
Michelle Rollins (Married into money)who is running for the seat Castle held in the house, was braver - showed up with 8 from her group - and even though she is a multi-millionaire, she felt it was undignified to pay the $100 that was charged to candidates for the hall and the food... She actually tried to go onstage and commandeer the microphone (speakers were to be paying participants) she stormed off, went to one of the State Representatives table, slid his papers over and put hers out. Then made a scene as she stormed out. Delaware is just a stepping stone for her - she wants to hobnob in DC and her real interests are in her property in Jamaica.
And those are the two selected by the State Republican Party at their June Convention with 350 voters (so 176 won) for Senator and Representative. Party position is that the others don’t exist unless they win the primary (where WE the voters decide) on Sept 14th when ours win, the party then has to eat crow for not recognizing them.
This primary, Christine and Glen Urquhart - both very solid conservatives stand very very good chance of setting the party on its collective ear.

the dems would pour millions of dollars into endless recounts and legal challenges just to keep her one vote neutralized for as long as possible That's fine as long as the Rat isn't seated. The Senate rules for cloture require 60 affirmative votes to end debate and take up a bill. So really her role in winning is to remove that critical Dem 60th vote to overcome a Republican filibuster. Delaying her swearing in doesn't help them.

We do have a pretty good voting system here in Delaware - not without an occasional foible, but by and large it works well with lots of poll watchers.
LOL, by the time the Dems fight nationwide battles for so many seats, that money might be getting mighty thin... (I hope)

If she wins, cant Reid do exactly what he did with Brown and shove legislation through while he refuses to seat her? Republicans can filibuster any bill they really want to stop and Democrats need 60 votes to end the debate. Lacking a Democrat from Delaware to cast the 60th vote, the bill(s) in questions would be stopped.
