This trust is established to help defray the costs of the massive legal fees incurred through these continued political attacks.

I had been out of the loop on this issue....and found this on the "new" Legal Defense site:
"Further, the word "official" was used to distinguish the Alaska Fund Trust from other legal defense funds that were starting to pop up and no one knew if these would comply with disclosure laws, lobbyist restrictions, etc.
But now - because she used the word "official" - an independent counsel decided that the Trust "violated" the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act and now requires the Trust to send back every single donation raised by the defense fund while she was governor.
I am really really pissed at the fascists and liberals who are attacking this woman. I am not even sure I would support her for President, but I am DAMN sure I don't like the way she is being treated.
I went to the new site and matched my previous donation....AND I ALSO SIGNED MY REFUND CHECK, RE-ENDORSING IT BACK TO THE NEW FUND.
I hope some of you FREEPers will join me in helping her fight off these moron Obama cultists, and help her defray her giant legal bills.

I read her first book and enjoyed it thoroghly, but it’s hard to donate to a movement that has not defined itself as of yet.
I’m certain she is aware of her calling but what will she do with it in the future?
My checkbook awaits an answer from her.

My check arrived too. I promptly endorsed it to the new Sarah Palin Legal Defense Fund and then dropped it back in the mail using the included “No Postage Necessary” envelope.
In a nutshell, the Rat lawyer hired by the Alaska State Personnel Board to finish investigating the last of the anklebiter complaints against Sarah indicated that he was going to rule against her on two weak technicalities---1) that the old Alaska Trust Fund was illegal because it had the word "official" on its website, and 2) that Sarah's friend Kristan Cole, who had helped set up the fund in the first place, was illegible to manage it because she had done some volunteer work in Sarah's administration.
That was all he could find that was wrong with the fund , but yet, he decided that it was enough to declare it illegal (as undoubtedly directed by his Rat bosses).
Sarah could have fought it and probably won, but it would have cost several hundred thousand $$$$$$ more. So, she made the sensible decision to just settle the thing and get it over with once and for all.
Under the terms of the settlement, the original Alaska Trust fund was closed and the $383,000 collected would be returned to those of us who had donated to it in early 2009.
In turn, she set up the new Sarah Palin Legal Defense Fund in a completely bullet proof way, and is asking us to simply transfer the original donations over to the new fund to get her legal bills paid off.
That's what has happened.
Well, she got my original donation back, and I went on and MATCHED it again.
So the asswipes who sued over it lost double—she got twice the money from me...ha ha.
I plan to not only endorse the refund back to her, but I'm going to triple my original donation....that's how pissed I am about it. The nasty little peons responsible for this are going to rue the day. They stuck a stick in a hornet's nest!
If I get a refund check, I’m going to cash it, then write her a new check for twice the ammount.
Got my check today (Monday July 26).
I was rather surprised to get it.
I had tried many times to contact the fund to see what the status of the legal wrangling was and never got any reply. I recently read that they would be trying to issue refunds. It was a nice surprise to see them follow up on that promise.
Sarah still and always has my support.
She’s the one they attack, therefore she is the one they fear. Our Grizzly Bear Mama. God Bless her real good!
Did you send it back? You can endorse it to the new fund and she’ll get the money.
