SNIPPET: "Police are working to figure out the origin of the rocket that was fired from the Gaza Strip Saturday evening and exploded near Kibbutz Nahal Oz, without causing damage or injures. A total of four rockets and two mortar shells were fired at Israel on Saturday, causing no injuries.

IDF strikes in Gaza in response to rocket

Air Force planes target weapons warehouse, two smuggling tunnels in Strip; no injuries reported

Published: 06.25.10, 07:57 / Israel News

Israel Air Force aircraft bombed a weapons warehouse in northern Gaza and two smuggling tunnels in the southern Strip on Thursday night.

The Israel Defense Forces said the targets were hit and that all planes returned safely to their base. There were no reports of injuries.

The attack was a response to the firing of a rocket and mortar shells at western Negev communities on Thursday. The IDF stressed that Hamas was “a terrorist organization which is fully responsible for the events in the Strip.”

On Thursday evening, a Qassam rocket exploded near a kibbutz north of the Gaza Strip, shortly after two mortar shells exploded south of a kibbutz in Shaar Hanegev Regional Council.

A total of nine mortar shells and one rocket were fired at Israel on Thursday, causing no injuries or damage.

Attacks from Gaza have increased in recent days, luckily, without causing any damage or injures. Nine days ago, after a week and a half of relative calm, fire on the western Negev from Gaza resumed, when a Qassam hit an open area in the Eshkol Regional Council.

“Air Force strikes in Gaza”

SNIPPET: “IDF retaliates for deadly Qassam attack: Air Force hits several Gaza targets, including metal foundry, smuggling tunnel; Vice PM Shalom says Israel to offer strong response to rocket attack that killed Thai worker Thursday”

SNIPPET: “IDF aircraft struck at least four targets in the Gaza Strip on Friday, a day after a rocket fired from the Palestinian enclave killed a Thai worker in Israel, Hamas security officials and witnesses said.”

SNIPPET: “Israel also sent a letter of complaint to United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who is due to visit Israel at the weekend, and to the UN Security Council.

A previously unknown group, Ansar al-Sunna, believed to share the hardline ideology of al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the rocket fire at Israel, as well as the al-Aqsa Martrys Brigades, a wing of the Fatah movement.

Earlier, Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai said that Israel holds Hamas accountable for attacks originating in the Gaza Strip regardless of the group that commits them.”

Ah heck, don't normalise it with a police action. Fire some rockets back!

Having said that: I guess that the Israelis are keeping their powder dry for Iran, so can't react as they would wish to every little thing.

1. Jewish money for the GOP would make no difference. And if every Jew voted for Republicans, it would have only changed a handfull of congressional races in 2008.

2. Soros isn't a Jew.

Grad missile lands in Ashkelon
Jerusalem Post ^ | 7/30/2010 | JPost
Posted on July 30, 2010 7:00:20 AM PDT by HearMe

Several people treated for shock; damaged caused to buildings, cars.

A Grad missile launched from the Gaza Strip landed in a central, residential area in the southern city of Ashkelon Friday morning.

Magen David Adom crews treated two people for shock.

The missile shattered numerous windows of the surrounding, multi-story buildings and vehicles in the area.

Ashkelon Mayor Benny Vaknin who arrived at the scene, said that the missile landed in the heart of a residential neighborhood and that Ashkelon citizens are unfortunately accustomed to such situations.

Vaknin emphasized that many educational institutions, schools and day-care centers in Ashkelon remain unprotected from rocket attacks and called on the defense ministers to continue efforts to reinforce vulnerable areas.

“I do not see how it will be possible for us to begin the school year with schools and day-cares left unprotected when a heavy cloud of lethal rocket and missile fire hovers above us,” Vaknin said.

A committee of Ashkelon parents threatened not to send their children to school at the beginning of the year if their school buildings would not be fortified, Israel Radio reported Friday.

The “color red” alert system was heard across the city prior to the rocket landing allowing residents to enter protected areas.

Police were urging residents to remain indoors for fear of additional rockets or missiles.

In a closed meeting Friday morning, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced that Israel views the Grad missile attack in Ashkelon with harsh severity.

The Aza Din al-Kassem Gazan terror group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Israel files complaint with UN over weekend rockets

Israel has filed an official complaint with the UN following the Grad rocket fired on Ashkelon and the mortar shells that exploded in the Negev over the weekend.

In a letter to the United Nations Human Rights Council Israel charged that “the rockets were launched indiscriminately towards Israeli civilians and civilian targets, which constitutes a war crime and a crime against humanity.” Israel’s UN envoy in Geneva Aharon Leshno-Yaar wrote that the incident seriously threatens attempts to renew peace talks with the Palestinians. Unfortunately this time looks like it is going end up being something pretty big in the region. By October this will all be in full swing.

Just unbelievable...

Yes, this is ongoing and sad.

Because it is Israel, there is not a lot of press coverage, unfortunately.

The jihad is global, so it would be prudent of the lame-stream-media to cover Israel as the global jihad affects us all.

Note: The following text is a quote:

Ridiculous media bias against Israel: Israeli soldiers did not enter Lebanon, as was widely reported
Yet another example of why mainstream media journalists are just a notch above child molester. Or maybe a notch below. “Today’s Example of Ridiculous Media Bias Against Israel,” by Barry Rubin, August 3:

Along Israel’s border with Lebanon, east of Metulla, some bushes were pushing in on the border fence. The fence is set in slightly from the border precisely so that Israeli soldiers can work on it. The IDF called UNIFIL and informed the UN that this work was going to be done today so that they could tell the Lebanese army that there was no aggression going on but just routine maintenance. Soldiers from UNIFIL came to observe and can be seen standing next to Israeli soldiers in the photos. Photographers were also standing by to film the operation.
But Lebanese soldiers opened fire on the Israelis who were working and in no way acting aggressively. The fact that journalists were standing next to the Lebanese soldiers shows that they knew Israel was going to do this maintenance and were observing. After the Israeli soldiers were ambushed, they returned fire. One Israeli officer was killed, another seriously wounded; three Lebanese soldiers, and a Lebanese (?) journalist were killed.

So how did Reuters and Yahoo report this? By saying that Israeli soldiers had crossed into Lebanon and been fired on, thus implying the Lebanese army was acting in self-defense! Other news agencies merely reported: Israel says the soldiers were inside Israel; Lebanon says they were on Lebanese territory.

Reuters: “An Israeli soldier is seen on a crane on the Lebanese side of the Lebanese-Israeli border near Adaisseh village, southern Lebanon August 3, 2010. Israeli artillery shelled the Lebanese village on Tuesday, wounding two people, after Lebanese Army troops fired warning shots at Israeli soldiers.”

Yahoo: “A Lebanese officer spoke on condition of anonymity under military guidelines, said the clash occurred as Israeli troops tried to remove a tree from the Lebanese side of the border.” No Israeli is quoted.

What a surprise. There is much more. Read it all.

“Hamas leader Khaled Mash’al has recently presented Hamas’ ideological and strategic alternative to the PA’s approach towards the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He slammed the PLO leadership, denied the legitimacy of Israel, ruled out the negotiations with it in their present form, and called to follow the path of jihad and armed struggle.”
