Minuteman Founder Endorses Tiahrt

Best Choice to End Illegal Immigration and Secure our Borders

Aliso Viejo, CA - Minuteman Project Founder and President Jim Gilchrist, the nation's leading grassroots activist on the issue of immigration reform and border security, announced today that he is endorsing Congressman Todd Tiahrt in his bid for Senator of Kansas. Gilchrist cited Tiahrt's strong record on securing our borders, denying illegals any form of amnesty, and cracking down on taxpayer funded benefits that attract illegals to the United States. Polls show that immigration reform and border security remains one of the top issues facing voters of the state of Kansas in the upcoming August 3 Republican Primary.

Gilchrist stated, "With his strong track record of demanding the Federal Government to enforce our laws and secure our borders, Todd Tiahrt is the only candidate who truly has a committed stand on the issues of immigration reform and border security. Kansas needs Todd Tiahrt as it next US Senator to end the chaos of illegal immigration."

Regarding the August 3 Republican Primary Gilchrist said, "For too long law abiding Americans have grown tired of watching the political establishment lack the will to enforce our nation's laws when it comes to border security and immigration policy. Todd Tiahrt has earned the respect of volunteer Minutemen on the US Border as they work to support the mission of the US Border Patrol, and he has proven he will fight that same status quo establishment in Washington DC on behalf of taxpayers to end the influx of illegal aliens in America. That is why I wholeheartedly endorse Todd Tiahrt for Senator of Kansas."

Jim Gilchrist founded the multi-ethnic Minuteman Project on Oct. 1, 2004, after years of frustrated efforts trying to get a neglectful U.S. government to simply enforce existing immigration laws. Called "the world's largest neighborhood watch", their volunteer members aid efforts of the US Border Patrol by watching for illegal activity along the US-Mexican border.

Jim Gilchrist is the founder and President of the Minuteman Project, a multi-ethnic grassroots organization dedicated to border security and immigration reform. For more information see

This is GREAT news!

Moran is a “phony baloney plastic banana” on this issue. To steal a phrase from Limbaugh.

Moran would not vote for a bill to cut off welfare, to illegals.

Moran LIED about his position, and votes, on illegals, to the point that Tancredo even called Moran “dishonest” and changed his endorsement to TIAHRT!

I just hope that Kansans research and learn the truth because Moran has been spending mega-bucks to lie about Tiahrt’s positions on illegal immigration and everything else. Plus the mainstream media does everything possible and more to smear Tiahrt and pump up Moran. The Wichita Eagle just came out today with a Moran endorsement (of course).

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - A former campaign manager for Kansas Republican Jerry Moran is now publicly endorsing Moran’s main rival for the U.S. Senate.

Paul Moore said Sunday that he’s backing Moran’s fellow congressman, Todd Tiahrt, after coming to believe that Moran was not instinctively conservative.

Moore made his comments in an open letter to Republicans, which he provided to The Associated Press. He also said he’s sending it to Tiahrt’s campaign.

Moran spokesman Dan Conston said the Moran campaign had not seen the letter but would respond.

Moore said Moran winced at the frequent use of terms like conservative and “pro-life” about himself. Moore was Moran’s campaign manager from February through mid-April.

The primary is Aug. 3.
