Ex-manager in Kan. race backs rival (Switches to TIAHRT!)
The Wichita Eagle ^ | 25 July 2010 | John Hanna

TOPEKA, Kan. - A former manager of Kansas Rep. Jerry Moran's campaign for the U.S. Senate publicly endorsed his main rival Sunday, saying Moran is unsure of his beliefs and not "instinctively conservative." ---

"Moore provided a copy of his letter to The Associated Press and sent it to the Tiahrt campaign. He told AP he wrote it with "entirely no input from any other source."

"He was Moran's campaign manager from February through mid-April, though campaign finance records show he remained on the payroll through May. He said he was forced out, without elaborating. ---

"To my surprise, Jerry Moran winced at the frequent use of the words 'conservative' or 'pro-life' to portray himself out of fear he might offend moderate or pro-choice voters," Moore wrote in his letter.

Moore added: "He ultimately relented to the political realities and has thoroughly advertised himself as 'pro-life' and 'conservative' to describe who he needed to become to get elected."

Todd Tiahrt is the Conservative in this race! Jerry Moran is a phony baloney RINO, who only votes "Conservative" because of the district he is in.

Jerry Moran has ALWAYS been a thorn in the side of Conservatives, when it comes to recruiting candidates, control of the Party, or raising funds for conservative causes or candidates.

Todd Tiahrt is one of US!

Jerry Moran is NOT out friend!

Jerry Moran is NOT our friend.

Sorry, -—

Things are heating up here!

Tancredo switched to Tiahrt, over Moran!
The founder of the Minuteman movement endorsed Tiahrt!

Now, MORAN’s CAMPAIGN MANAGER ENDORSES TIAHRT!

This is very good news and surprising, as well.

The Survey USA poll showed that Tiahrt had narrowed Moran's lead from a 53% to 33% margin to a 50% to 36% margin. It's still do-able.

Minuteman Founder Endorses Tiahrt

Best Choice to End Illegal Immigration and Secure our Borders

Aliso Viejo, CA - Minuteman Project Founder and President Jim Gilchrist, the nation’s leading grassroots activist on the issue of immigration reform and border security, announced today that he is endorsing Congressman Todd Tiahrt in his bid for Senator of Kansas. Gilchrist cited Tiahrt’s strong record on securing our borders, denying illegals any form of amnesty, and cracking down on taxpayer funded benefits that attract illegals to the United States. Polls show that immigration reform and border security remains one of the top issues facing voters of the state of Kansas in the upcoming August 3 Republican Primary.

Gilchrist stated, “With his strong track record of demanding the Federal Government to enforce our laws and secure our borders, Todd Tiahrt is the only candidate who truly has a committed stand on the issues of immigration reform and border security. Kansas needs Todd Tiahrt as it next US Senator to end the chaos of illegal immigration.”

At the “Bob Dole Convention” in San Diego, I walked up behind Jerry Moran, who was sitting at table with friends.

They were discussing the Republican Party Platform, and many libs/Moderates/RINO’s at the table, were upset at the prolife plank and other conservative language, in the Platform.

“We need to throw the ‘WINGERS’ a bone,” Said Moran.

The discussion went on at the table, about how the GOP Platform was not binding on anyone, and we needed to do this to help Bob Dole win.

When the liberals and RINO’s noticed I was listening, they got uncomfortable. Moran's back was towards me. Somebody on the other side of the table, facing me, cleared his throat and nodded.

Moran turned, saw me, and said “HELLO” rather startled and embarrassed.

Jerry Moran is NOT a conservative. Moran fought against conservatives taking control of the Kansas Republican Party.

Jerry Moran NEVER helps us recruit conservative candidates.

Jerry Moran NEVER helps us raise campaign money, for conservative candidates.

Jerry Moran is all about Jerry Moran. He does not have the guts for a real fight. We can NOT count on him, when things get tough!

I have come to the conclusion that Jerry Moran’s greatest hope is that he will elected to the Senate and become Lindsey Graham’s best friend. I will vote for Tiahrt.

That surprises me.

While I’ve supported Tiahrt and still root for his victory, I’ve had nothing in particular against Moran. He struck me as being OK. This primary has seemed to be a choice between an acceptable Republican and an excellent Republican.

I don’t even LIVE in KS or nearby anymore, SO, take this as you will, AND, I know nothing of Moran, other than he is NARAL rated 0% (anti-choice) and 100% by the NRLC (pro-life), BUT, when Palin endorsed Tiahart, I looked at his campaign website, front page pic of him and Karl Rove, and bashing Moran as being in DC too long and too friendly with Obama.

OK, FINE, but then, as I was diggin’ into his stance on the ‘issues’, he was bragging about how he would keep local taxes low, by getting handouts from the Federal gov’t for agriculture.

Now, you tell me if it takes political courage to bash ‘bailouts’ for New York bankers from Kansas, and, support subsidies for Kansas farmers?

I am just sayin’, thats all, cause, I am vexed, I heard a popular ‘conservative’ talk show host going on about it was only 100 days till America begins to become free again, and I about wanted to PUKE, cause, it could have been Barry Goldwater, it could have been Romney or Scott Brown on the ticket, and this fellow would have been telling me I have to vote them evil liberal democrats out of office!

I heard Dick Morris discuss this race on Sean Hannity’s radio show a couple of weeks ago. For what it's worth, he thinks Tiahrt will win, described Tiahrt as the “conservative” and described Moran as a “Washington establishment” kind of Republican.

FYI, there is a feature article on Todd Tiahrt now on redstate.com . (He is one of about a dozen GOP congressman who identifies with the Republican Liberty Caucus.)

Actually, it is Moran that is OWNED by the ethanol lobby.

And, I doubt that you have “quoted” Tiahrt, correctly, as you don't even attempt to use quotation marks.

On the prolife issues, I know who Moran hung out with, in the Kansas Legislature. They were all buddies of George Tiller.

Moran voted against Parental Notification TWICE!

Proof of Moran’s RINO status is in his immigration commercial where he attempts to convince people that Todd Tiahrt is pro illegals. Moran’s commercial repeatedly uses the term “illegal immigrant” instead of the truthful description “illegal alien”. Immigration is a legal process, if they aren’t going through the process they are not immigrating and can’t be considered immigrants, they are here illegally and foreign which makes them alien.

I was recalling, but here is what Tiahrt says on his site: "Because Todd sits on the powerful House Appropriations Committee, he is able to help direct federal dollars back to south-central Kansas for projects otherwise funded by local tax dollars." I note this is from the page on Agriculture. Then, further down: "Todd believes America must be taking steps to reduce its dependency on foreign oil. One of the ways to reduce our dependency on foreign oil is to expand the use of alternative forms of energy, such as ethanol and biodiesel. Todd is a supporter of both ethanol and biodiesel and believes each as a role to play in a balanced national energy policy. Not only are these fuels good from a national security perspective, but they are also good for the environment and help bring needed revenue to farming communities across Kansas. The Energy bill, H.R. 6, that Todd supported and President Bush signed into law in late 2005, contained a renewable fuels requirement to add 7.5 billion gallons of renewable fuel (such as ethanol) in gasoline by 2012." So, Tiahrt evidently supports ethanol, just like Moran, but, its a national security issue, not welfare for farmers, as say, it was when Obama was supporting ethanol back in Illinois, another farm state. Re: Moran and abortion, in 2006 he was Rated 100% by the NRLC, indicating a pro-life stance. You have 2 solid pro-lifers to vote for, seemingly, but, lets not make these guys out to be something they are not, whether positive or negative. If either gets elected, the pork will continue to flow to Kansas, but at least, you will most likely not see a blatant pro-abortion vote.

Moran does his best to undercut and sabotage the conservative movement.
I have dealt with him, and his underhanded tactics.

Moran was a LIBERAL his first few years, in the Kansas Legislature,

Moran voted AGAINST Parental Notification laws, when a minor seeks an abortion. He did so TWICE!

This was a bill supported by ALL of the prolife groups, in Kansas!
